Today I saw...

Last night on a rare night on the town, near the amusement arcade, I saw a couple of blokes one of them took his cap off, popped a quid in it and put it on the floor, before he sat down to join it, the other one went off presumably to do the same further up the town! I do feel for some of these people who are on our streets and I do give change out during the day, but it is difficult to see who is in genuine need sometimes, when you see things like this going on.

I saw a couple of blokes ( probably the same ones) in the same place last night tucking into a rather nice looking Chinese takeaway, obviously the pound in the cap accumulated.

I don't usually give beggars change but I do ask them if they are hungry or thirsty and buy them something if they are.

Apart from when there's a service on, does anyone know if St Chad's is ever open simply for folk to have a mooch round?
On the subject of lists, should anybody be compiling a definitive list of places of worship in Stafford, then they should remember that we carry a spare Saint Chad's - just in case. It is not quite so old-fashioned, inside or out.

There is also a Gurkha Temple, too.

I saw a sign outside the newish Coop funeral place on the Stone Road saying "come in for a nibble and a natter"

Seems a strange place to go for either and I wouldn't touch their spare ribs if they're on the nibble list :)

Coincidentally today was the first time I noticed there was a new one in Salter Street!

Don't know how long it's been there...

Some poor bugger getting CPR on the A82 near Glen Coe after being hit by a camper van. It wasn't looking good. Police closed the road completely.

The Co Op funeral place at Queensville has a De-fib device attached to the outside of the building.......

How do I edit this?
... @Goldilox, rather more than Eight Miles From Stafford.

Image carefully blurred to conform to Forum anonymity standards.

291 or 328 miles depending on your route according to Google maps.

Cheers for coming out - it was great to see you there.

Unfortunately, the flaw in your anonymity plan is that you didn't blur it sufficiently to render my name illegible... ;)

About 65 miles there on the day - and about 68 on the way back, due to missing a sneaky turn-off.

A position awaits you at CSInis Córthaidh?

Not many places smaller than Uttoxter with an underground railway.
