Very disappointed with Vivere last night. No vegan options on the menu but they were happy to remove cheese when making our food. All for the same price as 'with cheese' of course :(

Very disappointed with kyoto49 tonight. No research into potential vegan options before visiting, but was happy to slate them when making this review.

All for the same price as 'with fecking off' of course.

I did actually wonder when reading that post, what traditional Italian dishes are vegan?

Egg free pasta is easy to get, nice rich tomoato sauce on top is a good meal risotto, calzone with a veg filling and no cheese, pizza with no cheese, there are optons if they are interested! but clearly they're not!

I don't think Vivere is traditional Italian either!!!

But you said they did offer to remove the cheese, so what was wrong with the calzone or pizza? Do they make the pasta themselves or buy it in? Personally I don't like the place, been a few times and never liked the food, but I tend to examine a menu before I go somewhere especially if I have such specific food preferences.

I think it was more the attitude! The menu explicitly says "Gluten Free and Vegan customers please consult a staff member" so we did this. The reply was that they had no vegan cheese!! By that time we were sat down. Tbh, we usually would do the menu examination but we just popped in on the spur of the moment while walking home rather than intentionally choosing it, just wanted a quick snack. Given that cheese is the most expensive part of the meal, I was kind of expecting to get a reduction on price. Calzone with veg & cheese, £8.50, Calzone with just veg, £8.50! We won't be going again!

All you can do is vote with your feet, they don't cater to my tastes either so I don't go. TBH in Stafford if ou don't want Indian food then you're a bit stuffed!

Really? You know we're in the 21st century? :)

Furthermore, non vegans are quite allowed to eat vegan dishes! Just like many meat eaters eat vegetarian meals through choice!

And vegans and vegetarians are more than welcome to eat meat dishes, oh no that doesn't work does it?

I do occasionally enjoy vegetarian meals, but thank you for your consent anyway :)
