I’m extremely proud of our village.
Over the last 5 weeks we had a little Christmas stall on my friends drive.
We made cakes, my friends made holly wreaths, Bednall calendars and Christmas cards.
We asked the village for gift items to sell. The quality of things arriving daily was wonderful.
People brought things to sell and people spent money.
All this unmanned, out daily with an honesty box we raised ££3644.46 for Katharine House Hospice.

This is on top of the request that the church warden made for donations to the food bank. On top of the donations of biscuits, chocolates and Christmas puddings the village donated £1383.50 in cash which was used to purchase approx 1200 meals (tinned meat, tinned potatoes and tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and custard.)

Here is the food from Bednall being donated to the food bank.

That's amazing, we'll done everyone in Bednall.

The staff here at Sainsburys have also been holding raffles, Christmas Calender Advent and lots of other fundraising for Katherine House Hospice too. Plus our lovely customers have been donating to Katherine House, Woman's aid and the Salvation army along with a couple of other charity's and foodbanks. Amazing efforts by everyone.

How heartening that residents of a village without a pub can find something worthwhile like that to do with their spare time.

Peculiar thing this morning in that I find myself still in Cornwall on Christmas Eve for the first time in over 20 years. Normally I'm up in the Black Country with family.

F*CK 2020 AND THE EARTH'S ORBIT IT RODE IN ON. :(
Will be the first Xmas Dinner I've not spent with my mum :ohno:
