Great news! I keep seeing information that they are short on marshalls, but I've tried to volunteer by 4 different routes and still heard nothing/

I'm impressed !! Just had another phone call offering me a COVID jab in Holsworthy on Saturday !! Although it's sooner and 5 miles closer I politely declined as I'm sort of looking forward to visiting Westward Ho! and I have a good reason for the journey. The rozzers have become quite keen on nobbling people doing unnecessary journeys of late. Apparently thousands of pounds worth of fines have been issued. :cops:

So no date from Handjob on when or even if Covid Hotels for those returning from abroad, with goodness knows what variant of Covid, will be introduced. But people in Walsall, Southport, Maidstone etc being told to stay indoors unless they actually run out of food.

Still, at least the establishment is trying it's best...

I was hoping Sturgeon would have forced their hand but maybe not. If we are allowed to go abroad on holiday this year the government have failed in their duties.

It's a right state of affairs when someone like Sturgeon can be held up as a beacon of what to do but there it is. I'm a little concerned about her plans for school reopening though, as surely that must be too soon...

Really? (genuine question, not sarky remark)

DIL is a teacher, workeing still and goes for a test every week (not provided by school), I thought this was a bit excessive and possibly a waste of resources as people should only be tested if they have symptoms, or if they are an NHS worker.

Now I'm not so sure.

I work in a supermarket, and have never had a test.
I travel around visiting clients at home & workplaces & my wife is in retail. We’ve been having weekly tests since Kingston centre first started doing regular testing. I think everyone that goes out to work or just for excercise regularly should have regular tests to protect others. I’ll be booking tests for Saturday soon, booking is fairly easy & the test is a doddle with results texted to you in about 30/40 minutes.
P. S. There was a senior official on television last week saying everyone that works should have a test every few days. Community testing is for everyone without symptoms in an attempt to catch either asymptomatic or early cases.

Thank you.

I had to go for a blood test today & the nurse told me I should be getting tested regularly, she seemed surprised that my workplace weren't reccomending that we get tested regularly.

If anyone has a link on how to book a test, I would appreciate it, Mondays my next day off, so I may make it a regular thing.

Take a book!

I am in a hotspot so really should book one before I go shopping, but then I see no one at all outside of this house, unless the people I run past count.

I went shopping today - there's still a good bit of half-day (or all day!) Wednesday closing here, so the supermarket s quiet. I think that's the first person I've spoken to since the oil man on Friday.

Slightly worried that I've got to sit in the car park for at least half an hour after the test, not sure my bladder will approve of there being no toilets available.
Take a book!
A very absorbent book.

Or borrow one of tek-puppy's pads on a sale or return basis?

Today I got a vaccination slot booked at the Stafford Showground on Sunday. Anyone know what the traffic is like trying to get in, trying to work out how long the journey time is likely to be? Stepson got his booked about an hour before I did but his isn't till Monday.

When attending anything at the Showground, I like to approach from the East.

It's not always to your benefit, since the 'over the road' parking became more used, but that will probably not apply to your current circumstances.

So, the centre is in this building - parking right out front, plenty of it, staggered times means it won't get full. Enter the building through the porch bit facing the car park, exit through the side facing the A518.

Cars are one way also, so entrance is here, follow round to car park, exit is the Main Gate.

Factor in 15 mins waiting after the jab, but everything else is brilliantly smooth - it's really quite impressive if i may say - and have a good one.
