The problem with this virus is that you all could be a carrier and have no symptoms - asymptomatic.
Getting tested regularly will highlight if you need to isolate instead of contaminating all you meet. I speak to people who have tested positive and have had absolutly no symptoms. This is a war. Do the right thing. Get tested and take yourself out of the equation. I seriously doubt Kingston has been busy all day. 10 -11 is full on, 5 people every 5 minutes. 3 - 4 the same. In between is sporadic. 50% of days capacity (330) if we're lucky. Generally the public attitide is ' it's not me, is everyone else'.
My answer - prove it. Get tested. Get safe.
I'm working at Cannock leisure centre, Wednesday - Sunday, this week. Come and visit if you can't get to Kingston

When son had symptoms and tested positive , he had to name all the work colleagues he'd done shifts with. They all then went for tests and had to isolate. Only 2 others had symptoms after testing positive . Some of the others tested positive but were asymptomatic and looking and feeling perfectly fine , so it was lucky son took them all out of circulation for the next fortnight .

Worth getting the tests to hopefully get more asymptomatic carriers out of circulation whilst contagious.

After attending the Kingston Centre testing centre for people with no symptoms , I've tested negative each time . But would be interested in finding out what percentage of attendees tested positive ...

Eldest son & GF had no symptoms at all when they were told they had been in contact with someone who was posative. It took a good week before they did show signs, and then they were very very ill.

Horrifying as they're in their late 20s, & VERY physicly fit.

My workplace asks that we turn off our covid tracing apps while at work, to stop false tests.

How reliable is the lateral flow test at spotting asymptomatic carriers?

Just had my letter for my first and second jab booking. It's for next Monday in Westward Ho in Devon, not too distant, 15 miles. The second one for early May.

Problem is it's in a Baptist Church !!

As something of a lifelong atheist I don't mind the jab, but I'm scared of being converted. :P

Poor Bob! I think they need be more worried bout the church collapsing when you enter!

Westward Ho in Devon,

Don't know why, but I just love that name. Conjours up long summer days, when we had no worries.

Someone I know was planning to get married in this church. She went there with her mother, to organise a seating plan.

While they were sorting out the front rows, a bolt of lightning blew out the end window and cracked the altar in half.

She still married him.

Fully expecting reports of Westward Ho churches spontaneously bursting into flames next Monday, don't dissapoint us! :strange:

I can only reply with a line from Luc Besson's movie Joan of Arc.

The Duke of Burgundy, the guy who sold out Joan to the English, stated:

"Personally, I don't believe in God. I don't believe in the Devil either. Perhaps that is why I am never disappointed." :P

I do worry about sudden and rapid combustion whenever I enter a church so you’re not alone

Yes, their reputation for temperance is a bit disconcerting.
When stopped in the street by Mormons I politely say that no beer, no coffee and more that one wife is NOT for me.

Ahh yes I remember Mormons. Young men with crew cuts and CIA suits who used to try and teach us to play baseball on the Rec when I was kid. We politely declined by telling them to go forth and multiply.
I've just been looking on Google Earth street view at the COVID jab site in the church. Right near the beach. Westward Ho looks like an interesting place. :)

And the pedant in me feels like pointing out it's Westward Ho!

It's nice to see that for the third day in a row the Kingston Centre is busy with vaccinations. Resident's concerns about an influx of elderly drivers have been allayed by the rumour that this vaccination centre is focussing on under 50s who fall into the priority groups - carers and healthcare staff.
