Feeling old today now that I've received my official letter , with my unique invitation code to claim online , telling me that I'm now old enough to apply for my state pension.

The enormous, giant, fat wad of cash you're about to get should make you feel better. :heyhey:

(I am of course extracting the bodily liquid waste material here ....)

Astounded, the company I work for have just announced that all stores will be closed this boxing day! :bananafunk::santa:

We will however, have to take it as holiday, or move that shift to another weekend day pre-Christmas.... :ohno:

Dear god there will be riots with all the big stores closed for xmas and box, how will the ungrateful bastards be able to get refunds for the prezzies they have just unwrapped

Hoping it will be a bit more than the £20 I'm getting from my private pension after 24 years of paying into it ....

250,000th poster!
Please try and remind me of this on Christmas Eve so I can buy in 500 bogrolls.:tumbleweed:
It'll make the run up to Christmas more exciting, and I said nearly exactly the same thing earlier.... People will panic buy, just cos of 2 days closed....

Jeez at one time you came across Watney's Red Barrel in bars all over the world !!! ..... even in girly bars deep in the Venezuelan Jungle. What's more you drank it for no other reason than it was better than Venezuelan Zulia Onion Beer, which tasted like brontosaurus pee. (Taken from a high plateau in the South American jungle where such beasts still roam. I know this because I've seen the film.) :P

£23?

At 45 my pension is looking pretty poor. Obviously I'll get the full state pension, but think my other interests don't amount to much more than £100/week. I was diagnosed with a heart issue in my very early 20s, a very flippant diagnosis by a doctor coupled with a period on anti depressants and the end of a relationship left me pretty sure I'd be dead way before I reached it so paying in seemed stupid. Wasn't til a decade later a new doctor put me right, making me suddenly panic buy a house and start a pension!

Going for a meal in the pub with son this afternoon , before him and hubby go to the match tonight.

Hubby not impressed I'm going out enjoying myself whilst he's working, has now arranged for me to be the lift to a lift, instead of them being picked up for the lift . So no cider for me with my meal then ! Not amused , but going to enjoy my couple of hours out anyway :D

Edited....... just enjoyed our lovely meal and puds . Could get used to this in the afternoons...

Do you actually have to claim the pension now? I thought it was automatic (once they’ve confirmed you qualify) but you would have to give bank details etc to get it paid. You only had to inform them if you wanted to defer it. (Unless they’ve changed it again.)
