Looks pretty good, quite a few sites as well, looks like Sports Direct are really going for the gamer demographic https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/wh...allery/inside-huge-new-sports-direct-23877323The Game in Sports Direct Birmingham has the 'Belong' Gaming Arena within it - lots of consoles so people can actually play games. I assume you have to pay to play.
The big empty space that would be created by knocking down the old Co-Op building would be in direct competition with the Market Square. The way I see it's uses as a viable commercial property are somewhat limited in this economic climate. The best thing would be to knock the eyesore down and convert into a park or pave and hold regular specialist markets such a farmer markets, veggie markets, real ale that are not directly in competition with local shops. Creating a focal point to the centre or north of the town is needed to regenerate the centre of town.
With a pool and an aviary?Spoke to miller sandy about my concerns over the roof, and they just said the new owners aren't too concerned, as they're putting plans together for an open air roof terrace on the second floor ok then
Funnily enough..........It does mean that someone has taken the property on though. Wonder if the deterioration is doing them a favour regarding the planning .
Most tenants would struggle to pay the rates, even if they were given it rent free.I'd imagine they seen the state of it and backed out. It's amazing how quickly empty properties deteriorate . All things considered, it would have been better keeping someone in on minimal rent to keep an eye on things, as is, it's going to cost 10's of thousands to bring that place back into use.
10's? What decade are you in?I'd imagine they seen the state of it and backed out. It's amazing how quickly empty properties deteriorate . Yup, business rates are a massive hindrance to actually doing business, they were meant to be up for review before the eventMost tenants would struggle to pay the rates, even if they were given it rent free.
I meant 100's to be fair10's? What decade are you in?
Realistically, I fear the back part might be too far gone now unfortunately, and it'd probably cost less to pull it down and start from scratch.I meant 100's to be fair
Did you just quote yourself…?Realistically, I fear the back part might be too far gone now unfortunately, and it'd probably cost less to pull it down and start from scratch.
It does always make me smile walking past it, someone has edged shit door into the glass on the ones facing the Guildhall. I'm guessing that door doesn't work
