After giving British Gas meter latest readings , it coming up saying 'are you sure? That seems an excessive usage'.... checked again. Yep. Rang them after saying one month's bill is 4762 kwh...
Now being sorted..

On our way to town in our own mini bus again 🤣 Need a drink :pint::pint::pint:
Actually 41, 762 not 4762 🤣

According to us we've only used 155 kwh so far, and they've agreed on our readings. A blip in the system between our meter and them shows we are using more than a large factory
That seems more plausible. I'm a great believer in the spinning disc meter, and will hold onto mine as long as I can.

The gas meter is the old fashioned type , and got no probs with that.
Still don't know who's supposed to be billing us for electricity & Gas what we've used from moving in on 8th July, to 26th July when British Gas took over from ' British Gas Evolve' who previous owner was with, but British Gas disowning...even though its supposed to be part of them and now no longer exists......

After a bloody horrible stressful day , had a brilliant night out in town, especially in the candlelit Paul Pry.
Luckily my fringe covers the results of head butting the window now starting to emerge from my forehead. Paracetamol & cider working well together to numb the earlier thumping headache.
At the moment, just got home in a happy state ☺

Can I suggest - perhaps, trousers, as well..?

Unless the award is for something of a very particular nature.
I have trousers. Unbelievably, I wear trousers every day. My jackets are at home however, as I didn't take any with me to France, figuring that if I did need one, I could buy one. And I don't wear shirts as a rule.

But I appreciate your concern...

In a rainy Paignton. Absolutely pissing it down so far , so can't make use of our own little garden & sunloungers. Decided to avoid using the garden gate to get in and out as the wet decking could be rather treacherous in the dark after a few ciders ... Past the swimming pool and through our front door may be slightly safer......

Missing our little 'home from home'cottage by the sea in Poole (which she has now sold :( ). The owner used to stock the fridge & cupboards up for us , including a couple of bottles of wine....... just got 4 biscuits , tea & coffee in this new apartment . (Thought they'd left some fancy choccies on the side....turned out to be dish washer tablets   )

We stopped off in Paignton on the way back from a day out in Dartmouth and most of the pubs were similar to the one you described.

Brixham, Torquay or Dartmouth have far nicer places to eat or drink.

It's a shame because I have some great childhood memories of holidays in Paignton and it's a bit upsetting to see what the town has become today.

We'll be catching buses to Brixham and Torquay again for a few nights out , like last holiday. (My OAP free bus pass is coming in useful :D )
But with it absolutely p1ssing it down since we've arrived yesterday we dined in the nearest eatery and drank in the pub nearest to the apartment. Seems that pub is the 'go to' for a lively night club style saturday night out. Had the feeling it could have all kicked off in the place a bit later , but we got out while all was happy & calm-ish 😂

Looks like getting soaked again tonight, still bloody pissing it down !

Got the train to Manchester. We really do live in a third world country now. Ticket office at Stafford couldn't be sure if any of the trains today would run, he was helpful but out of his hands, . Train to Piccadilly did run but packed with people sitting on the floor, first 3 trains to the airport cancelled so a one hour wait. Platform 13 in a decrepit old part of piccadilly. Walking pavement not working. Get to the airport and more moving pavement not working.

In positive news security was quick and efficient!

I'm sure when I arrive in Portugal the airport will run smoothly and a direct metro to the centre for a bargain price will be possible!
