Had a lovely day yesterday helping son out at The Leicester comedy festival.
He is putting on over 100 shows over 3 weeks in 4 venues. (The festival itself has over 700 shows)
The venues are smallish, holding between 50 to 75 people.
Yesterday was spent setting up the room, greeting the customers, finding them seats in a crowded room (it was absolutely buzzing, every show full to bursting) then as soon as the show started going over to another venue, wait for that show to finish. Clear the room, put chairs back in rows, put sons brochures on every seat, greet the customers , find them seats, show starts, back to the other venue and do it all over again.ā¦. until late.
Iām really proud of him. All of the shows that he is putting on are free to get in but pay what you want on the way out, you pay whatever you think the show is worth , or whatever you can afford but no pressure to pay if times are hard.
It was lovely to see so many people out and about and supporting the shows.
