Not 100% sure of this morning's route, I wondered if we had wandered back towards Sandon Road.

Had an Avanti experience, they really are a shitshow. Booked on thr 13:31 Euston to Stafford train with a reservation, as had many others. Go down the departure ramp with plenty of time to spare before the gate was due to close when all of a sudden the gates closed and we were all told that the train was full, no more passengers would be allowed to board for safety reasons. When did this become a thing? Anyways the staff duly walked off leaving us with zero information.

How can these charlatans still be allowed to run anything. They do not provide a service, just run occasional trains while siphoning off millions of public money.

For the love of God nationalise the trains as things really could be no worse. Cancelled trains, no crew, filth everywhere when the knackered old trains do eventually show and bloody expensive to boot. Not fit for purpose :(

No it sounds like it's very popular and sells out very quickly.

A bit like any other gig by a popular/major artist or event where they sell out within minutes of tickets being available.

I would imagine a similar phenomen might occur once people twig on to just how brilliant the Coach is but we may have to wait a while for that one 😂😂😂😂

It was a poxy tiny jar. I only bought it because the daughter in law went Ooooo at it. She never goes Ooooo at anything. I didn't mind the price of the Marmalade, that jar was a damn sight bigger.

In the second-nearest acceptable pub last night, I asked the woman topping off my pint if she could squeeze my arm and see how much is in there. She agreed to do it this morning and has got a blood pressure reading which is so 'text book' that it might look fake.

We did this because the surgery in Stafford is hassling me over "Not having a blood pressure reading in over five years", which is amusing, since it's only been done once there since 1974.

Having it done properly also means that I can use her reading to compare to the output of the "battery-powered boa constrictor thing" that I have available here. That seems about right, as it reads a little lower, but that's possibly partly because it's in my control whilst it's going on...

After reading The Village Voice over lunch, we saw an article advertising an illustrated/film history of Stafford which happened to be starting in 45 minutes time.

We spontaneously decided to go, quick change of clothes and off we went. It was absolutely full to bursting.
Not exactly the history of Stafford that we were expecting but an hour well spent nonetheless.

It could be that they haven’t got anyone to deliver it. Sometimes if someone stops doing it for any reason it can take a while to find a replacement.
Having said that, this is the Jan/Feb edition and we only got it this week.

Its full of pictures of what village did what at Christmas.
