We went to the cinema today, first time using our Odeon Limitless tickets.

We watched One Life with Anthony Hopkins, the story of Nicholas Winton, the London stockbroker who saved the lives of 669 children from Nazi occupied Czechoslavakia in WW2.

What an absolutely wonderful film, it had me in floods of tears at several points.

Feel like I’ve had my moneys worth from that one film alone.
But is it too comfortable and warm for staying awake ?

Out to the west, it was 12C at noon, it's down to 5C now and the talk of snow in a day or two seems more plausible.

The first four degrees of the drop occurred in a quarter of an hour, as the old air was completely exchanged for new, cooler air...

If you don't go, how would you know?

Exactly!

As part of my Stafford Gatehouse volunteering I get to see quite a few and varied films as part of Stafford Film Theatre who use the main theatre every Tues.

Last night was very busy , the showing was an excellent film with Michael Caine and the late Glenda Jackson, “The Great Escaper”. A true story about 89 year old Bernie Jordan, a navy war veteran who escapes his care home to join his fellow veterans in Normandy for the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

As an aside, I recognised one of the actors Brennan Reece who played a care home assistant.
He’s also a comedian who I’ve seen several times. By co-incidence I shall be meeting him again next month, my son has booked him for The Gnosall Comedy Club in March where I shall be on the door doing the meet and greet.

No, I don't know.
I admitted that "I'm not sure if any good films have been made during the last few decades".
It's not as if the Stafford Newsletter each week carries adverts and reviews for the Picture House and the Odeon like it used to.

A one hour plus hospital appointment to sort my broken hand out ( after half an hour trying to find my dept. It's like a maze in this hospital! )

Now sporting a tailor made splint , moulded around my fingers . Now allows flexibility whilst keeping broken bone in place.

For the last 4 weeks I've had the wrong type/size splint put on by plaster room. Now resulted in badly infected sore skin , and with fingers being held straight for 4 weeks they are now going to need lots of manipulation to get to bend again.

On the plus side been told once I've got grip back I can drive again . Now delayed the healing process by 6 weeks , but on the plus side I can do land zumba again as long as no-one knocks me.

No swimming pool activities for 12 weeks.

To try to use hand, but not get wet. To open light cupboards etc but no heavy lifting with either arm. And no twisting tight jar lids.

Hubby still going to be nagged to help for a while yet :D

Back to see hospital in 4 weeks time..
