A New Front Door

The arrival of my new front door is imminent - woohoo!

BUT, I've noticed that our old front door has a lip (almost triangular strip of wood) along the bottom - presumably to stop the rain running down the door & pooling underneath? Anyhow....the new front door does not have one! Should it? Where do we get one? What is it called?

Various names - often called a weather bar or weather strip - http://www.leaderdoors.co.uk/door-frames-joinery-products-c37/hardwood-weather-bar-p6460/s24747?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=xl-joinery-hardwood-weather-bar-sku-118841&utm_campaign=product+listing+ads&gclid=CMOCt6XT4cUCFeoJwwodJ74Arg - generally sold by places that sell wooden doors - try B&Q...

To be fair, it's not always feasible to fit one properly to a replacement door without knowing exactly how the existing frame is arranged - when the door is in place, the strip can be fitted better than just guessing by some bloke in a some factory somewhere.

Is it possible to form a usable coffin from the parts of a front door?
Haven't even started on the fitting yet, this is the sanding of the door frame, the choosing of the door furniture & yacht (?) varnish & arguments over how many coats it needs......aaaagggggghhhhhhh.

So, my nice new front door is currently residing behind the chairs in the living-room. Fixtures, fittings, paint & varnish acquired .... husband just needs a week off now to fit it!

It's gradually edging it's way to where it should be.....

Its back behind the backdoor now, but it has a letterbox & a hole for the lock...

...I could varnish one side if I could lift it to turn it round...
