What the effers sake has happened to Apres, been going there years, not for the last few months however. Went tonight for a meal with the family and Jesus the food is third rate, terrible, microwaved, looks like manure and so expensive, it makes McDonalds look like fine dining???? We ended up with a refund without a fight. Will be avoided in the future, sad really

Gutted, always found it to be a fairly safe bet for food and always enjoyed the pizzas there! Hopefully just a one off bad day......

No, last few times we´ve been for food it´s been hit or miss - and we´ve notice it get more expensive too. We sometime pop in for a drink and sit in the beer garden - for a change...

On a semi related note, anyone have any idea what the building was before it was Apres / Yates etc...

It was Poundstretcher immediately before, and I seem to remember the listed shop front 'accidentally' fell down when the built Yates on the site.

Did it used to be a funny mini BHS, or did I make that up? - There appears to be bricked up doors in the back, or possibly ovens, which prompted the question of the building´s original use.

I've had a couple of pizzas in Apres recently and they were both delicious! Unfortunately none of us will be able to have them anymore....cos the staff were all told yesterday that Apres is closing down! Booooooooooooo!

Yep, 'fraid so. I don't know about the chain as a whole but the Stafford one is a defo. I'm not sure whether it's immediate either...will try and dig out some more details.

It's not closing down, it's been bought out. I am not at liberty to say by whom. My lodger'a girlfriend works there and has just informed me of the developments.

Hmm....that's strange. From what I've heard all of the staff from Apres have been relieved of their duties.

If it has been bought out then will it continue to be run as 'Apres'?

Apparently they find out more tomorrow. An established brand have bought it and the Lichfield branch.

Is it possible that this will be a Lloyds Bar, as intended for Chic Rock but shelved cos it was too close to Wetherspoons? Will be interesting to see what happens.

Bloody hell...I got my first pair of 'proper shoes' from there, having had the rest from Medina Shoes at Kwiksave! FHW FTW LOL LIMP.
