Just been pleasantly surprised to find our local Freedom Brewery's lagers on draught in the Poste of Stone (Four and Pilsner) - would be great if that's on the beer menu at the Butlers Bell! Not sure whether it's a one off or a permanent fixture.

Freedom Four is a gorgeous pint - gives a good Real Ale a run for its money. I know you can get it in The Swan in Stafford but not come across it anywhere else as yet...
Where is this brewery? ...........

Freedom Lager was originally founded in 1995 at Fulham, London. In 1997 and 1999 it opened two pub breweries one in Earlham Street near Covent Garden and another in Ganton Street near Carnaby Street. In 2004, Freedom Brewery moved to its current home in the heart of rural Staffordshire, near the world famous brewing town of Burton-on-Trent. The Ganton Street brewery’s 10hl maturation tanks were reassembled in Staffordshire and additional brewing equipment was brought in from the United States to cope with demand.

That comment about the lease on the building has got me thinking, How many of those businesses at that end of the town are coming to the end of their lease. We are about to see the plans for the future redevelopment of the town , I just wonder if there is a tie in between new developments coming on line and potential relocation due to lease on current sites expiring. Next, M&S Apres, etc.

Freedom Lager has been on sale in the Swan Hotel for months, a lovely summer session drink and very competively priced.

Don't like the stuff personally, its lager for a start. :P
I usually drink "proper beer" when I'm out Rikki but the Freedom Four is rather good and nothing like your typical carling fare. Worth a try in the Summer...

Went in today with a few friends for lunch and a few drinks and it's lovely. Probably one of the best spoons I've ever been in. Don't let the fact that it is a wetherspoons put you off, they're aiming it at a completely different market that The Picture House.

Today? Is the opening not 17th?

If Apres is dead and buried, and a new establishment has opened up, I would suggest starting a thread dedicated to the new place (one can always link back to this thread, for reference). :)

If you go towards abbots Bromley from the reservoir come to the T junction turn left and sign posted on the right. We suffered this awful stuff at several establishments locally. Namely the Blyth Inn off the Uttoxeter road where they had a bar set up by the brewery and it fell flat on its face.. I also was involved in setting up a beer festival in hixon when it first came out locally. ... mmm it's pants.... I like real ales and good quality lagers... have a broad pallate. in my personal opinion this is one of the worst lagers I have ever tasted. Reminds me of tennets pilsner and lluckily the only people that suffer that is the scots where Carling or Carlsberg hasn't reached! again my personal opinion. ...

The roadside sign has been saying for months that the brewery shop is closed for refurbishment.
