Reminder: Baswich Lane Road Closure 4 July- 2 Sept
NOTICE is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council on 02 July 2018 made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the following lengths of Baswich Lane in Stafford:
From its junction with Tilcon Avenue to the entrance of Two Waters Way (over canal bridge)
From its junction with Cornwall Drive to the entrance of the caravan park (over the railway bridge) unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the works. Pedestrian access will be available.
An alternative route for traffic is available via Baswich Lane, A513 Weeping Cross, A513 Milford Road, A513 Main Road, The Green, Holdiford Road, Tixall Road and vice versa. For more information, visit: https://roadworks.org? tm=105295257.
The order will come into operation on 04 July 2018 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated that the works will take place as follows:
Canal Bridge - 4th July 2018 until 23 July 2018
Railway Bridge - 23 July until 02 September 2018

I'm still at a bit of a loss as to how the larger lorries are going to access the industrial estate as, even though the canal bridge may be being strengthened to accommodate them (allegedly) it's not going to make the other bridges any wider to enable them to actually get round.
Also @Steve_b, do you know if, whilst the 'strengthening' work on the canal bridge is taking place, whether the tow path remains open?
