It does depend on your budget somewhat.

We are going to Bistro Le Coq.

It’s been quite few years since I went here, I must give it another go. Perhaps not for Christmas Day though, every year we go through the same conversation, ‘should we go out for Christmas dinner this year?’ We look at all the menus, and usually decide to go out for Christmas Eve lunch instead and spend Christmas Day at home with invited family members. This looks like a nice menu! *Note to self - I really must get out more.

Thank you for all your ideas about places to go it was really appreciated. A lot of places I could think of were either already fully booked or not opening, The lovely people at the aston tap house have managed to squeeze us in.

I would suggest the Spread Eagle at Galley however it's very popular and the OH normally has her booking in by September. If the options are limited it's that store in town for the prepared heat and eat option. Would be interesting to see how the festive fair at The Hungry Horse goes.

I was given a cup-a-soup as a starter one Christmas. Another time I was given two veggie sausages as my Christmas dinner. And I mean JUST two veggie sausages.

Needless to say, I didn't spend Christmas at those houses again
Perhaps they were a bit confused by the religious symbolism aspect and were trying to form the two sausages into a crucifix, which would, obviously, have been more appropriate for an Easter celebration?
