Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Men at work today on the new EE/Orange/T-Mobile mast on Baswich Lane. I did ask them if it would be switched on soon and got a non-committal sort of answer (surprise surprise) but hopefully it will.

EE are installing a mast near to the bus stop, seen 3 service boxes there in prep.
A green thing (like on the photo above) was being put up last week (wednesday or thursday ) on the Cannock Rd by the bus stop near to that temporary mast.

I think three also use EE infrastructure. I hope they have not been turned on yet as the service is still non-existent/hang you head out a window and hope for the best!

Spoke to a man working on the new EE/Orange/T-Mobile tower on Baswich Lane. He said he switched it on today for voice and 3G, 4G will be turned on another day by another company.

Let's hope it makes a difference.

I use an Android app called Llama to trigger location aware profiles, and it learns local masts to figure out location without using GPS.
I had noticed on Tuesday that it suddenly picked up a new mast, as well as my signal improving, so it's good so far here (Wolseley Road, Kingston Hill, facing towards Baswich)

I was speaking to the owner of a shop in town today and he was complaining because his (Orange) mobile signal, which is normally four bars, had fallen to between one or none (depending on whether he was standing up or not) over the past couple of days. I'm guessing this may be the reason?

My EE signal is worse than ever at the moment. Even hanging out of the upstairs window isn't helping it lately, so hoping they still have to switch something on and it will eventually improve.

There's closer masts to town than Baswich I believe, isn't there one at ASDA?

Mine has been awful since they turned off the permanent mast on the old police headquarters, but has been very good for the past 2 days on this new mast.

Been walking the dogs and got this signal strength. I was about 300 yards away from the new mast. Never seen full strength signal near home since joining EE in October 2013.

I've had no bars at all for a short while tonight. Now just gone to 2 for a few seconds before dropping back down to 1 ...

We are on the far end of the estate, so maybe struggling to reach our house ??. Our British Gas smart meter isn't getting the Vodaphone signal through since it was installed a few years ago (after several engineers and trying several diffferent meters ), they blamed something like the neighbours massive trees blocking the signal getting through :?:

Well since the new mast switch on the strength of my signal appears to gone from two bars to four bars when sitting at my desk

Hopefully this well mean the end of 'straight to voicemail' issues.

Is anyone on O2 in Weeping Cross/Baswich/Wildwood and having problems using their O2 mobile phone? I live in Weeping Cross and for months I haven't been able to use my mobile phone to make calls whilst in my home. I'm on giffgaff which uses 02. When I make calls they just can't hear me and most the time I get one bar and quite often it says no network.
I'm thinking of changing to EE/Orange. I can see a few of you posting on here are on Orange and were having issues but has that improved now with the new mast in Baswich Lane?
I've checked the Giffgaff map for coverage and it says good indoors and out and it shows the mast as being in Cannock Rd by Wildwood Dive. Is that info about the mast out of date I wonder as the talk on here says the mast has been taken down from the police station.

@Princedomino I'm on EE/Orange, although I'm the other end of town (N'orff End). The signal has been better since they switched on the new mast, I get between 2 & 4 power bars now whereas before there was no signal at all on most days...
