Those prices are on par with Vivare / The Hollybush in Salt / Hand & Cleaver in Ranton / No 5 Goal Mews / Pizza Express / Bella Italia (although I don't remember the last time I ate in the latter two without a voucher).

Food at the Swan is jolly good, and they often have fantastic weekend meal deals - thats when we always seem to go.

It will be interesting to see the quality, I'd have thought they'd have opted for a smaller, more intimate menu, but we'll see.

If they can get the food quality as high as the hand and cleaver at ranton green then Stafford will be extremely lucky...

As lucky as the folk who can drive 5 mile and read signposts

Most diners at THE CLEAVER appear to have discovered an Oasis after dark

Went for coffee today at 11am, was told they don't open till 12pm. Went back at 1pm had coffee, which was nice. Not many people, just a couple of tables. Done up nicely, 7 Ales on. Without background music, appeared a bit soulless. Otherwise, quite a large menu. Will have to go back and sample food.

Not opening till 12 will not impress the mums who come down for a coffe while their kids are at nursery methinks

Received my invitation for the pre-opening night last Saturday, this morning. Better late than never I suppose.

Haha! Hopefully that's no reflection on how long it takes the food to arrive after ordering....which I'll find out after going there for lunch later today!

Hi everyone. My name is Matt and I'm the Head chef for Chambers.

I have just come from Mint restaurant in Sutton Coldfield. I used a forum called Birminghamplus.com and loved the chat and reviews.

I'm aiming to provide great pub food at affordable prices. Everything is being made in house except bread. I would welcome all any comments on what we are doing or suggestions as to what we should be doing. I look forward to the banter.

I was suprised to arrive at work today to find your menu pushed under my office door! I shall be in at some point no doubt, I guess its cutting it a bit fine aiming for a full meal in a 1 hour lunchbreak?

Nice one! I assume the chips are 'real'? My GF has a severe hatred of frozen chips used in restaurants!
