Tiger Bowl situated very close to Waggon & Horses is very good value for money in fact choose wisely as the portions are quite generous, we usually have the remains for brekky......

A few posts under my belt
Yep, I'm a fan of the Tiger Bowl for Chinese, Shuma Balti for Indian/curries etc and Chris' Fish Bar in Rising Brook for the old standard.....a fair way to travel from oop north, but worth it. More importantly, I wouldn't buy fish and chips from Northern Lights or the place opposite the Reynolds Bar for love nor money.

Essence of the Orient Takeaway is excellent. And i know i may be saying something really quite crazy indeed here.... But IMHO Penkridge has some SUBLIME takeaway. best one being Mingh's takeaway Chinese... although it does have an unfortunate name.

Essence of the Orient = good
Oriental Kitchen (Newport Road) = amazing

Huge choice of food, great service, generous portions etc. and the food is nicer as well imo. Not sure but I think it might be slightly cheaper too. Just remember that a 'set meal for two' is easily enough for three, or even four if you add another rice and another main dish! You sometimes find some free extras too eg prawn crackers or fortune cookies!

I agree that the Oriental Kitchen does lovely food. If only they'd deliver (says the lasy moo who only lives a 5 minute walk away but when it's late, cold & wet and there's no food in the house, I opt for a takeaway particularly so I don't *have* to leave the house as otherwise I'd go to the supermarket, buy proper food & cook)
