Destruction of Doxey Marshes.

Whilst i wholeheartedly support the right honourable member for his good works in keeping us abreast of these developments, i would like to take this opportunity to remind him that this is an issue entirely unconnected to the Borough Council's laissez-faire attitude toward the Destruction of Doxey Marshes, and pertains more to the County Council's laissez-faire attitude toward Cannock Chase being for sale.

I refer the right honourable member to a more appropriate thread posted some moments ago - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/ind...-chase-offers-invited.5370/page-8#post-277662 .

The Right Honourable Member for Strange Villages near Stafford humbly apologises to the Right Honourable Member for Odd Bits of Stafford. He was under the mistaken opinion that at one time this item from 38 Degrees covered the protection of Staffordshire Countryside including Cannock Chase and Doxey Marshes. He can only assume that somewhere earlier in this discussion via 38 Derees there was mention of Doxey Marshes which he misinterpreted. He thanks the Honourable Member for drawing this matter to his attention.

Dear Friends,

Today has been a very good day! The councillors voted unanimously to accept our petition, and voted to never sell the Staffordshire Countryside and Green Spaces to private investors.

Thank you for your continued support and raising the profile our this important issue

This is by no means the end of the campaign as we seek to hold councillors to their word through the consultation and the proposals that they present. The devil is in the detail as we need to see how they intend to deliver over £600,000 annual cuts to the Countryside by 2020 and the role of private business in our Countryside management with Amey indicated to be maintaining footpaths. Both of these are hidden in the Council papers appendix to the Medium Term Financial Strategy.

Well obviously they have. I mean, how the hell could they make money and grant planning permission for all our green spaces to be built on if they didn't own them!!!!

Is the new rugby club between the railway on doxey marshes and the doxey primary school as there is work going on there. If so it is currently under water.
