In 1979, the STX-1, which I think was the early version with the exposure meter needle, before the LEDs were introduced, was 330 Deutsche Marks - so, somewhere around €170 or £145 or £150.

You pull up the rewind crank.

Are you confident that there's no film in it now?

If you use the rewind crank, you should find out before you open the back - just 'tighten up' the film, if there is one in there now. If it goes goes round forever, then it is empty.

No idea. Minimes new/old purchase...no instructions with it & the carer & I can't quite remember how to operate such devices as we had the slimline Kodak type cameras

Can you build over a drain cover, or in any way obstruct or make it smaller? We have one in the doorway of the extension, and it's within the building boundary (door is indented to facilitate). This door is useless and blocked by a tumble dryer, but wondering if I could repurpose this space for the downstairs toilet, allowing me room to put a shower where that currently is. This would mean the toilet being almost above the current cover.

Trying to work out ways to make our house livable for my father in law, should we ever manage to get him over. Stairs are not a possibility.

Of any local charity that can pass on donated household goods to people in need rather than the usual charity outlets that sell stuff.
Work colleague has a fridge and a chest freezer she wishes to donate.

I know of someone who really couldn't have coped without them when they were having a very hard time a few months ago and basically left destitute.
Having moved away from donating to a certain Beaconside charity I've given a few things to them now, they're particularly thankful for 'bloke' stuff as apparently they mainly get womens items and men are just as likely to need help.
