She has Quincy, extremely high temperature
My experience many years ago. Very sore throat, went to doctors, diagnosed with a quinsy and put on penicillin. That night I was perfectly happy but my wife (Mrs Noah the first) who had some nursing training was frantic, things clearly wrong and a temperature of 103+ (Fahrenheit in those days). Called the doctor out, he took one look at me, shoved a large dose of another antibiotic in my arm Then took MN1 to one side and gently prepared her for the worse, told her I might not live the night. Subsequently had my tonsils out - Addenbrookes hadn't seen a quinsy for quite a number of years so trainee medics around. Start of a quinsy epidemic, they had one case a year for the next 3 years.

Yes, I know of 2 other people, not related, who have recently had Quincy.

Ooof, she was released at 9.30 last night so is home, but still on antibiotics, can hardly speak, and throat/tonsils/ face still swollen. Her nose is totally blocked so her throat is drying out even more from breathing through her mouth.

But, she had managed to eat a little & has slept better last night & in the day.

Thank you for asking.
Gosh , glad she's home but still sounds so poorly . Hope she gets better soon @littleme .

She's really poorly, I'm not sure why they discharged her, as age seems worse again today 😔 her face has gone down a little, but not her throat.her temperature is ok & her heartbeat which is why they thought she'd got sepsis... She didn't eat much again today though so I'm still worried.

She's just left her lair, her throat has gone down, nearly back to normal and she's had some pizza & mandarins in juice, but that's all she's eaten 😕 hopefully this means she's getting better... (? Anyone know)
I told you, sleep is a very good bit of medicine for her. The fact she's eating and drinking in small amounts is better than when she first became ill. By now the antibiotics are really starting to kick in. I promise you, she's getting better xx

I couldn't agree mire Glam, and remember how very much sleep I needed when I was most ill, with a stroke sixteen years ago and a fractured spine last autumn.
