Huge thanks to MPFT for their very generous donation of 64 laptops and 2 desktop units!

I may be wrong, but I'm sure they used send all their stuff to Stone. Both lads used work there and I seem remember them telling me they'd seen stuff from us.

I reckon there's at least double that on the wards that are shite and need changing.

They have a new department now at trust HQ which is dealing with all the collating, erasing and scrutinising.
While I was there collecting there must have been another 40 or 50 staff turned up with theirs to trade-in, so those should be ready for us as well by next month

Elsewhere, you have been discussing unnecessarily awkward fasteners.

This is my 'favourite'. It is difficult to photograph, but it is the axle bolt on the wheel of a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner. The 'mudguard' shrouding the wheel will sometimes fill with fluff, densely enough to jam the wheel.

The head is hexagonal, but it also has a Torx socket formed it it, which is handy, because it would be hard to turn it with a spanner - you can just get to the Torx via the hole above it. The far end of the bolt is down a similar hole, but it should be easy enough to hold the nut and get the axle out to clean the jammed 'mudguard' area. After ten minutes of failing to do this, I excavated the jammed-in fluff and found that the 'bolt' did not have a nut on it - it wasn't even threaded - it was held in by an E-clip with just enough space to push it off. They had actually spent money to make it look 'real', then hidden it! The formed socket has no function beyond misleading you. It would have been cheaper to do it properly, whichever way they chose!

It's closer to 40 now.

We work hand in hand with some essential services within Staffs County Council, providing laptops to vulnerable clients being mentored by SCC representatives from these departments:

4 of your unwanted laptops, a desktop tower, jazzy monitor, and all the relevant accessories, now safely in the hands of Care Plus at Acton Gate.
These are destined for public use, for job searches, benefits claims, general online information and forms.
Thank you to everyone who donated this equipment and the funds we needed, you paid for a new hard drive and wi-fi adapter for the tower unit
👍

We're solely fuelled by your donations.
Whether that's through sponsorship or one-off cash pledges, or gifting your unwanted devices for us to fix up and rehome, we couldn't do any of this without you all

If it looks like crisps...
And it says crisps...
Then is it crisps?
Or is it two more of your unwanted laptops off to their new home with Our Forgotten Neighbours CIC?
