Fuel Wankers.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Had to fill up in Shrewsbury earlier as the trip said I had less than 30 miles left. No panick, no queues.

Get back to Stafford and there's a big queue at Tesco...

It's all part of the great reset, continuing power grab and widening canyon between rich and poor- that people just seem to collectively ignore and think "that's life! Lets just have a whinge about it."
I won;t be panic buying or queueing anywhere. I'll just wait for my contractor invoices to get paid until I can afford a full tank as I'll get more for my buck now than when I'm eventually empty.

It is possible, is it not, that the people of Shrewsbury are simply a bit slow, and have yet to realise the gravity of what is a quite real situation?

I know everyone here seems to get quite excited at the prospect of calling out the whole of Stafford as a bit... extra - but aren't fuel prices actually ramping up quite alarmingly?

Isn't trying to buy fuel at one fee, before that fee is massively hiked, quite normal behaviour?

One would have thought that getting out now and filling up was being quite proactive.

Oh to be so oblivious. Things predicted years ago and ignored are happening. No conspiracies, just stuff happening that people spoke about.
No need to talk down to people.... I haven't!

I've known Glam for a few years and we never abuse each other, whatever our views.
2 years ago, we were going to be through a pandemic in a matter of weeks, ID tracking was just a made up story, the government could be trusted to look after us and not take away freedom. 200 law changes later, all of that is a distant memory that's conveniently forgotten and people would rather point the finger at those that don't follow the main stream. You really want to roll out tin foil jokes? Crikey!
I'm just a normal bloke who looks outside my comfort zone.

Well I'm going to be making bacofoil jokes when I'm knocking on the Pearly Gates, or negotiating a deal with Charon the boatman, or explaining to Old Nick that he'd better move over, new management is arriving, or it really is oblivion !!! (probably wont get any kind of laugh if that's the case.)

Infantry humour. :teef:

Diesel at Tesco £1-55 earlier. Carried on past Lammascote it was £1-76 with unleaded £1-66 ish & the forecourt was full. Are people really that stupid?

Diesel out at Tesco and ASDA, have the army been filling up at their fuel tankers? Stafford sounds like a war zone already.

Eccy Road was £1.69 which I thought was bad, so glad I went for economy over speed!

Noticed last Friday and Saturday that more people were driving slower, but today it was remarkably noticible. Lots more doing 60mph or less .
Frankley Services on M5 was 157.9 for unleaded today , so filled up there .

Think people are just opting for the fractionally lower pricing- Sandon Road still has fuel.

Let's look on the bright side. It does mean that the public purse will have more money to do things on our behalf.

Although, I suppose, the posh boys and their chums will probably just steal it, too.

It's gone up 20p in a week, that's over a tenner per tank 😦
Hopefully the positives are less miles driven. If people find alternative forms of transport or just drive more considerately with regard to fuel consumption this might be the best news recently for air quality! I know I'm giving serious thought to whether I need to take the car out, just walked to the station rather than drive, and also doing all the little things I don't usually do to reduce electricity use at home as well. The bills have all gone mad this week with fuel and utility increases!
