Having never found a bottled real ale that tasted like a draught pint I was well impressed with bottled Holdens Golden Glow

Whats going on? More and more breweries are reducing the ABV on a pint of real ale. We squint at the pump clip to find the ABV because we're interested in the strength. Going down but not the price reflecting the duty change.

Once run by Geoff Hurst it now has a tennant landlord ftom South Africa, sited opposite The Bell which is also run by a South African

And a very nice job they've done of it too. Joules Pale is lovely.
Gave the George a couple of goes last week, lacklustre ale, hardly any punters and no-one seems bothered.
Bell packed out yesterday tea time.
