Businesses are likely to find themselves short-staffed today as hundreds of thousands of people take "sickies" from work.

Surveys suggest the first Monday in February is the worst day of the year for absenteeism, leading to it being labelled National Sickie Day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 100% positive that just over a month ago, the media made exactly the same claim about the 1st working day in January being the worst day for sickies. Strikes me they just make it up as they go along.
