I drove up here this morning and although there appeared to be a lot of sand on the road - indicative of a spill of some kind - there was no other disruption or evidence of an incident. I missed the broken wall though, although I wasn't looking out for it.

That morning: Wolverhampton Road resembled a car park, found my lift to work further down so jumped in. Turned round to try the Silkmore Lane/Lichfield Road route - not much better, after the bridge we went down Fairway to find we couldn't get out so turned round and went down the side streets to get onto Weston Road, which was also rammed so ended up going down more side streets to get onto Corporation Street and finally managed to work after about 45 minutes (could've walked it in that time!) where the first task was making a fooking cuppa after that mission and a half...

I managed it for six years at my last job, although since I am now working 10 miles out of the town and have to be very presentable it's not really practical to ride to work in any weather.

The only problem with cycling is you need two sets of clothes if you wear clothes for work which are not suitable for cycling. Your journey invariably takes the same time every day though - traffic? No problem!
