One Word "Jailbreak"!!!db said:still, given the choice i'd defo stick with my desire, simply because it allows you to install unsigned apps, and getting hold of dodgy ones is so easy
Very surprised by DB's post especially the bit above.db said:my htc desire is lovely an' all, but it just can't touch the new iphone in terms of.. well, everything lol..
doesn't do loads more, but it just looks like a nicer experience imo.. obviously, this is subjective..gk141054 said:Very surprised by DB's post especially the bit above.db said:my htc desire is lovely an' all, but it just can't touch the new iphone in terms of.. well, everything lol..
As with Tek, I would be interested to learn what it does that is so much better than the Desire. Not a great deal from what i've read.
i sort of agree, whilst disagreeing lol.. as in, the first iphone wasn't a groundbreaker imo, because it promised so much and delivered so little.. it wasn't even 3G, and couldn't do MMS or bluetooth - things that even the most basic phones had been doing for years! they finally got it right with the 3GS imo, and this just takes it to a new level..gk141054 said:This isn't an iPhone bashing post but IMHO this is more a "catch up to our competitors" than a leap ahead / groundbreaker like the first iPhone.
htc evo is basically the same hardware as the desire, except it is wimax compatible (which is only in the US atm).. see here for a comparison (nexus one is basically a desire)..gk141054 said:Oh and the HTC Evo comes out at a similar time as the iP4 so I heard... could be interesting.
no, i love the new look! i thought the old one looked a bit childish an plasticky.. i love the new design!gk141054 said:Finally... does no one else think the new iPhone looks ugly compared to the rounded edge form of the 3GS?
you're right, it doesn't - it pisses all over it from a great height! htc touch hd is "only" 480x800, the new iphone is 960x640! when you're talking about a screen that is only a few inches in size, that is a huge difference.. plus the htcs all use amoled screens, which are impossible to see in any kind of daylight.. the iphone uses.. erm.. something else, that i can't quite remember off the top of my head, but all i know is friends' iphones are a lot easier to see than my desireshoes said:Have to agree with gk here - the new shiny camera brings it into line with 2005 model nokia/sony erikson phones, the new screen brings it into line with the 2007 HTC Touch HD...oh no... wait... it doesn't
you must have a magical hero, cos on my desire & the gf's hero it works reasonably, at best.. i agree with jobs that flash is a resource hog that holds the internet back by forcing developers to use adobe's bloated proprietory software.. that's fine for dual-core, multi-gigahertz PCs, but it's just not at all suitable for content delivery on a mobile device..shoes said:Flash works great on my Hero too
whoops lol.. as someone in the comments section said, this one must have slipped through the net because all the field testing was done using protective cases to disguise the iphone from prying eyes..gk141054 said:http://gizmodo.com/5571171/iphone-4-loses-reception-when-you-hold-it-by-the-antenna-band
ugh, this is being posted everywhere and it just isn't funny.. seriously, this over-zealous anti-apple-fanboyism is every bit as annoying as pro-apple-fanboyism..MyCult said:
