Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

Another day in London working in an office. I say working, I had a 25 minute meeting, and I will be heading to the train station in half an hour. It could have been a teams call, but no, they want to spend 200 on a train. Ridiculous. This is a publicly owned business by the way, and one that has been getting headlines for the past 5 years or so.
Thirty years ago, I remember someone flying to Lyon and back to spend a quarter of an hour in a meeting that required no interaction from or to him.

Quite common I think. I occasionally have to go to Eastbourne to meet with the council. A 30 minute meeting, possibly lunch after. Train it down, hotel it on the day and return the next day.

Meeting the cast of Red Dwarf soon so, as per usual, I drew something up for them to sign. This is a mashup of arguably the best RD episode and my favourite game!

Really really must have p1ssed off the water gods! Ensuite loo (which has been fixed twice since moving in) is gushing water out of side of cistern somewhere now & coming through to kitchen ceiling.😭.
Plumber is on holiday, says turn loo isolation switch off til he gets to us after our holiday, but we can't reach it inside the unit! (Son got the top unit bit off, but even plumber struggled to get bottom unit part off last time) So got to turn main supply stop tap under kitchen sink off now.
I say bring back the old ball-cock & chain loos! Can't remember getting as many problems with them years ago , and at least you could get to them if any problems.

There int a film bit, and I had YouTube on. I've had a bit of nostalgia this evening and watched For The Love of Ada - Irene Handl, Wilfred Pickles, Jack Smethurst and Barbara Mitchell. Certainly not everyones cup of tea, but it is mine. Need to find Spring and Port Wine now.

Have just had the pleasure of paying £52 for a parking permit. £52 and I can't even park outside my own home. I'm sure when we were sent the plans for the new road there were parking spaces allocated outside here.
Yes, it was my choice to buy this place, but there wasn't a residents parking scheme in place way back then!
It does stop tw@ts parking up for 2 weeks and going on their hollibobs tho.

So despite the residents parking scheme nothing gets done if you park without a permit?

You get a ticket, if the parking gnome is on a walkabout. But we don't see him very often.
