Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

I have just been in another building, for the first time since December 11th, apart from the house and the shed here.

I went to Lidl and managed to contain the excitement of such a 'novel' event, after nearly three weeks.

It was interesting as, even at this time of year, the blazing Sun here today made it necessary to have the blinds down on the windows, to avoid staff and customers being blinded by the glare.

Probably worse than high summer, due to the low angle of the Sun, I suppose.

After using the last of our ltf kits up ,
Just managed to nab myself a box , after being unavailable online for delivery each time I tried.
Got a code just incase before setting off on my walk, popped into the local pharmacy on my way and they had just had a limited supply delivered. Yay! Nice timing!
Limited to one box each , only handed to actual person and not able to collect on behalf of anyone else.
Rang hubby and told him to get his @rse up there pronto to get his box.
Walked straight back home clutching my box as though it was a block of gold.

Abandoned the long walk idea and did some tidying up of the garden.

In a happy mood now:)

Lengthy and almost springtime like walk over the Chase today. First walk that hasn't felt like a chore in probably two weeks, at least.

Working on these days isn't so bad given I no longer have to go to an empty office.
I'm hoping you don't have to go anywhere, it's rife again at my work, sooo many people tested posative on Christmas & boxing day.

Back to daily testing for me.

No office for us until the WFH guidance is lifted, and then our exec only asked for once a month. Our team had been going in once a week, and I'd go in the occasional other day if there was someone in it was easier to see face to face. We're not going to be back again til summer at this rate.

Yesterday's hormone jab is about the 4th or 5th I've had since this shit started. Never had any side effects before. But yesterday, it felt like somebody had worked my back over with a baseball bat !! (It's injected into your lower back, upper backside.) I went to bed at 2000 hours (8 pm) and zonked myself out with ibuprofen, reinforced a couple of times in the night.
This morning it's all gone !!!
Weird or what ? :|

I found out Cross Country are operating far fewer trains tomorrow because it's NYE meaning I have to drive to work.

Do the Union consider public opinion? Because I can't imagine anyone having any sympathy for yet more inconvenience during current times.
It's worse than Jim.

What they're striking about are conditions that were originally part of the Virgin franchise with multi tasking roles that the staff got a big increase in salaries for and have worked to for nearly twenty years!!

Clearly their union leaders are a bunch of cnuts and those members that voted for strike action over this are thick as pig shit.

Our have I misunderstood...

Nice long walk on the Chase this morning. Mrs p went to the shops this afternoon, p jr wanted to do some homework and assess what restoration he needed to do on his birthday present over the next 12 months, so I headed out to work on the Big Bike (as the family now call it) and had a nice time mowing the lawns in the Spring like sunshine. Good ride there and back on the bike too on very quiet roads.

I wandered down to the pub this evening, knowing that Maggie was on - she does a great turn - anybody that can do Carpenters' covers can't be too bad.

On arrival, I found that she had arrived with the landlord's nephew, on the keyboard at the back, and another nephew, on the saxophone here.

There was three of them, and eight of us in the audience - in the picture above, they are doing Supertramp's It's Raining Again, to a remarkable standard.

It was well worth the ten minute walk each way - and (ssshh!), we had a lock-in to half past nine.

Learnt not to use the camera icon on whattsapp messages again , to automatically send photos and videos after one click !

Meant to send a video of sons Lush bath bomb present fizzing around the bath as I was about to climb in . But changing it to video from camera it suddenly went to selfie mode :o:embarrass: . Luckily with phone also being working with my spotify on bluetooth speaker , the video only worked for 1 second and only got my face .

As punishment for my tardiness on Saturday, there were only 4 (yes 4!) staff for me today.... I also get to work on my only other day off this week.... 'think of the money'....

I'm glad we never came in today then.
You should have, it was great, despite being down by 4 people everything went well, not sure if that's a good thing, or they'll think we can cope with less people permanently...
