Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

I can remember, many years ago, when we lived in John Amery Drive, on Christmas Eve I had to get up for a pee (not that as a kid, having been stuffed with Santa Claus stories, you were able to sleep much.) As I stepped out onto the landing, I met my Dad creeping up the stairs with a bicycle on his shoulder !!!
I still remember his words to this day: "Santa left this downstairs by mistake ...." Not bad quick thinking on his part, but he needn't have worried, I looked at the gleaming bright red bike and I didn't care if Santa existed or not.
I was about six or seven years old, and I was happy.

Eldest child and his mini-mini-me (my grandson, aged 4yrs) visited tonight to collect their Christmas presents.

Mini-mini-me was allowed to open his presents (as he's off back to his mums on Friday & we won't see him again till New year.) He gave an impressive running commentary while opening his prezzies....

Top 3...

1) 'Hmmm thats not what I wanted'

2) 'What's this? Well that's trash, rubbish'

This is the best one.......

3) 'Ohhhh that's just what I wanted, I've always wanted one of these..... What is it?'

Hysterical! He loved his presents, despite the commentary.

Teatime comments included 'I don't like squeezy sauce, I want it out of a bottle...... Oooo I like squeezy sauce, it makes trumps'.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
I missed the bit where you mentioned the age so while I assumed you were referring to a child who has yet to develop a filter for their internal monologue I was amused to imagine a much older individual saying this

Today was nice - warm(ish), with no wind and a bright Sun blazing from a largely cloudless sky.

So, I decided to go to a hotel about ten miles away, so that I could go to the bog.

This was not because of any sanitary issues at my base, but because the hotel is happy for you to park there when venturing off into the bog, which is traversed by an old railway track, with various newer routes running in loops from that. The hotel runs a small coffee bar for the expeditionaries, so, I presume they feel it's a reasonable quid pro quo. Or euro pro quo?

The railway ceased in 1953, so there is little left, beyond the bridge on the other side of the main road.

Looking the other way, into the bog, the track curves gently to the right.

One more work shift to go..... Today was manically hectic, but all the customers I spoke to were absolutely lovely, although I'm glad I have nothing to do with pork pies as people were nearly coming to blows over (the lack) of them.
Have you got rid of all those sprouts yet ?

Enjoying a drop of red.

Tesco in Hednesford was nearly deserted when I did the pre Christmas shop in there today.

Woke up early as I always seem to when I'm not working and got there for just before 5am. Got everything we needed, which was a lot, and was off the car park (which by then was nearly full) by 5.45am.

Treated myself to a full English and a massive portion of smugness when I got home.
