Keep forgetting its only March with this glorious weather , standing getting a nice tan watching all the dogs in doggie heaven playing on Goodrington Sands earlier.

A perfect 4 days holiday , so enjoyable I’ve got a good deal this morning whilst talking to head receptionist & booked our favourite room again for June.
Haven’t got deals on in Summer usually . but gave me special price with big savings than on their website price.
Worth getting chatting to management 😉

My price stands for any other week in June as well …. Was in danger of booking them all & living down here for a month whilst at the desk 🤣

Nice not having to wait weeks for Germany to authorise holidays , once hubby retires in a couple of months , just book the good deals on the spot.

Mentioning Stafford , receptionist said she goes there a lot to Leon’s coaches promotion events.

“Stafford M6 must have most of the traffic cones in the country ! “

A few people have mentioned that. Famous for that as well as Stafford Hospital saga 🤣

Woken by youngest, he reckons we needed get out the house and get some fresh air. I'm on the final straits of 2 weeks leave, him 1½ weeks.
He had an ulterior motive.
We set off towards town, ''Oooh, shall we get a Greggs while we're here?'' says him. Knew he was after sumat. Steak bake and 2 sausage rolls eaten while sat by St Marys later. We headed to Primarni, I needed some shoes for a hopeful trip to Tenerife later this year. Found a nice comfy pair, just need break 'em in.

We ended up walking home through the park.

Now I like Stafford town park. It int as big as say Hanley or Etruria, doesn't need to be. It was full of folk, and litter. There's enough bins, why can't people put their rubbish in them when finished with it?
In comparison, St Marys was spotless.

@Mudgie If you’re planning on a visit to ‘ The Hole in the wall “ I’ve heard it’s closing down for good on 13th April 😩

( apparently awful service by recent owners has killed off what used to be one of the best & oldest pubs in Torquay according to some locals…..)
Thanks, Yes, I had heard.
From thirteen years ago I remember it as about the only good pub in Torquay so will probably also get to Paignton and Newton Abbot this time.

The Hole in the Wall is one of the only few decent real ale pubs in Torquay.

Sad to hear it closing 😕

Thought I’d look good offering to be chauffeur for today to our Zumba special ‘afternoon tea ‘ outing at a countryside pub for 12 of us , thinking just tea , cake & sandwiches involved so wouldn’t be missing out on any booze ups….

Now discovered Prosecco is included in the package which I won’t be able to indulge in with driving. 🙄 🤣

I've done a bit of hairdressing today.

On the cat.

It had the potential to be quite exciting, but we both coped quite well and are both unscathed.

The wood delivery the other day was very resinous and I did warn her about that, but we both got some on us.

The worst she had was on her back, in an inaccessible area for her standard grooming attention.

Once it had hardened, it did look like quite a wound, and it seemed worth removing it as far as possible.

I've removed the worst of it - there's a few odd small bits left, but the standard attrition will shift them shortly - and the alarming-looking "scabs" are gone now.

my sons mate was told that they are getting a pay rise. of... 1p extra an hour. which put the pay just over the legal pay limit or allowance. this is a major company. he's done all the extra training and for 37p a week more.
pets at home shake your heads 😔

That's same as my youngest. I think he's getting a 3p per hour raise, or sumat like that. He's a trainer, some of the people he trains are getting possibly 10p. Not too sure.

Does the training give them a better chance elsewhere? No loyalty in this game anymore, they care about shareholders way more than workers.

Possibly. The equipment used etc. Why spend time and money training you on something your previous employer spent hours doing?
Youngest is looking to change jobs, apart from he thinks Pets are in trouble, he's reet pissed off that he puts his all into something the powers that be think is worth so little.

No loyalty in this game anymore, they care about shareholders way more than workers.
And we all know HR are there for the damage limitation to the company than the employees.

Woke up to Eric sounding upset, went in to find him sat on his bed in a pool of vomit looking very shocked indeed. Realised he's nearly 3 1/2 yet has only ever really thrown up maybe 3 times.

He came into our room, and threw up there too. Then again in his room after we'd half sanitised it. He's now lying on the sofa watching a whale documentary :(
