My car has been playing up , at first I thought it was just my driving but even I’m not that bad! Low idling , stalling , juddering like I’m in the wrong gear, random bursts of speed, delay accelerating, poor fuel economy. Then my engine warning light came on.

Figured I’d go ahead and change the TPS sensor , easy job , done it before on other cars. I spend about 2 hours searching online for this bloody sensor but couldn’t find one ANYWHERE. So I went and popped the bonnet to take a look . No sensor in there . Puzzled me 😂

Turns out In the accelerator pedal . So need to replace the pedal. Iv never heard of this before, I feel stupid.
Got the part , just need to undo 3 bolts and unclip the wiring . Easy 5 minute job … but it wasn’t ! That bloody wiring clip!! Spent a good 45 minutes trying to undo that thing . Had to consult with YouTube in the end! Iv never felt so defeated ! Why can’t they just make all the clips on all cars the same !!!

Back from my first physiotherapy session, looks like I should be fully healed in another 2 weeks or so. Just got a bunch of new exercises to do with a stretch tool thing to improve my reach.

Isn't the human body amazing?! Back in week one when I couldn't move my arm, I never thought I'd be healing this quickly.

If you haven't already done so, please consider getting your funeral prepaid and planned. It'll save having to make decisions whilst your loved ones are upset and then giving them a heart attack when they are presented with the bill. Funerals are ridiculously expensive. We are only having the bare minimum for Dad and it's nearly £4000. Add in room hire and catering for Mom's preferred venue, printing orders of service etc and it's mounting up. It'll all have to go on the credit card and then I hope my Brother who is sorting her finances so she's just got to sign off on things finds some money in the insurance policies etc so it can be paid off. The funeral directors have even charged extra because poor Dad died during the night and they had to come fetch him 'out of hours' I thought that business was 24/7 and there were no out of hours.
So yeah, save your family some stress, sort it out before you go. We are taking Mom in hand after things have settled and getting her sorted with one how she wants it. No more of this 'WE DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS LET ALONE TALK ABOUT IT' rubbish we've been getting for years. Discussing things does not make things happen. It does however mean your wishes can be taken into account when things do finally happen.

(I prepend this with my condolences, before I get onto the pragmatic stuff)

I’m very thankful that my uncle handles all our family funerals, as he runs his own funeral home. Made it a lot easier when my mum died, and when my grandmother died…

We got an MDF coffin for my mum with the northern lights on, dunno how much the whole thing cost but “proper” coffins are horrendously expensive comparatively I imagine.

My wife and I have agreed that the body goes to science and the mourners can feck off down the pub. If we tried to have a funeral in a church I’m pretty sure lightning would strike and burn the place to the ground.

Enjoying a drop of red.
We've brought p jr's 'friend' to her first ever auction. If she thinks the place is full of weirdos today then she really better brace herself for tomorrow!

As an aside, this is the first live auction I've been to since lockdown, previous ones having been attended online. It's good to be back and great to see some folk I've not seen for over three years.

Bloody Hell :o

What I can't understand though is they won't listen when I tell them the first lot of workmen said there was no movement at all on the meter once they had fixed the leak their side of the boundary , so no leaks on on our side . ?????
Then they managed to break the new pipe at the join on their side as they put the soil back in. 2nd lot to come out said they had kinked the pipes and the connections had broken well under their side.
Then still leaking into the hole once 2nd lot had gone, they left it open as they said the water was" filling up from underground from the neighbours" so couldn't fill hole in till theirs was fixed.
No one been to neighbours , but 3rd bloke comes last week, stays in his van filling in his computer report before he even got out of the van while I was knocking on his window. Got out, said someone would come and check for leak on that pipe before filling hole in. He drives off, 5 minutes later another lorry arrives and just fills hole in.

Then I get told the leak is on my side , so fix in 7 days or they are starting legal process against me. It's driving me close to the edge!

It could be worth writing down the actual sequence of their activities, and the results.

It might be of use to LV, if ST dispute it.

And, as bad as many large organisations are, you now have one on your side.

I've got everything logged right from their massive leak in the road leading to our meter/supply back in August (a cap had somehow sheared completely off )

Also worth noting if anyone else claiming on insurance in the future........ the company acting for LV sent paperwork along with appointment confirmation . You can only claim once for water supply pipes, so any further problems (especially if the increased supply from a fixed leak puts pressure on any other weak spots) unless it's in the exact place they just fixed they won't cover any future leaks on the insurance.

Interestingly....we had a new meter fitted with each repair job (didn't request, they just bunged a new one in each time). Now just read on our villages forum ...
Fingers crossed they find it's the meter not attached properly!
