I haven't seen this sort of thing for many years, or this far north before.

Lackey moth caterpillars, possibly.

I came back from a weeks holiday to a house full of spiders webs. Either the 2 spiders that I found , and rehoused outside, have been having great fun stringing loads of webs up for me to walk through , or there's a lot more sitting hiding and watching me hunting for them..

Those were just 2 of the babies ;) xx

Pissed off with the local squirrels. Last year they raided our nut trees in a big way. Clearly forgot where they buried the nuts. Now we have sturdy hazel & cob seedlings growing all over the garden. Standing out because they are still nice & green amidst all the brown.

Squirrels only 'remember' the whereabouts of about one quarter of the store that they bury.

Whether it be lack of mindfulness, or mindfully and purposefully planning, no one knows.

Ultimately it matters not - they plant more trees than we do.

So, another day at the office. We have decided that the rather large quantity of assorted, used (albeit grade A) carpet tiles we purchased are of absolutely no use to us after all as there's not enough of a similar weave and those that do match don't necessarily match on colour. So now we have 500 carpet tiles sitting in the office and I'm not entirely sure what to do with them. Was worth a punt I suppose.

Anyone wanna buy between 5 and 40 great condition carpet tiles? :gonk:

Think they must have been babies, going by the size of the one which came out of hiding today. Must have been the daddy spider as it took a pint glass to trap him, he was so big. Got a feeling he may well reappear ! As soon as I slung him half way up the lawn, he started legging it back towards the house.

My mood has lifted this evening . Son has had his offer on an apartment rental accepted. :)

Now he's just finished his shift at work, I'm waiting in my tidy house for him to arrive with all the 'stuff not immediately needed' that he's started clearing out of his house to store in my soon to be untidy house , to make moving day easier. Think I might need a bigger house :o:lol:

Time to crack open a cider to celebrate :D

Bear with me on that one, there’s a lot of variety in there.

Attached some photos of a few stacks mid-way through sorting a while back though.

Think the annoying fly that's been buzzing around is now a drunk fly . Keeps making a beeline for my cider glass, and now going absolutely bonkers!

Shouldn't have kicked all the spiders out......
