Just been looking through hubbys details whilst ordering his repeat prescriptions online. 'Past appointments' suddenly has a new one appearing , showing he had a face to face baby immunisation consultation with them last July :o . (Off to check the calendar now to see what he was doing on that date ...... :strange: )

And since I last checked mine after my covid jab , a message saying they had sent me a text invite beforehand (deffo not received) yet that message wasn't on my records right up until last week when I last looked . :hmm: Strange things going on...

The wife had a text to book her appointment online. when doing so it also stated she had missed a previous appointment. Seems the system has some gremlins. I hope its not too widespread

A week ago I took my car in for a service. I bought this car one year ago, it wasn't new, but it was only six months old. I figured it needed an oil change, etc etc and although I've only done about 2000 miles on it in a year, bringing it's mileage up to 4500, I noticed no entries in the service book so I took it into the MG dealers in Bideford and they told me this was its first service. (I didn't buy it from them, but up country.)

The car is an MG ZS, a sort of cheapo Chinese SUV with an old Brit name, but I can say I have no complaints. It's a good runner, and high, (important when you're entering old crockage,) and has all the gizmos you need and probably some that you don't. (Although I can't deny I'm very appreciative of the reversing camera, I'm the world's worst reverser.)

Today I received this in the post from MG UK and Europe saying the car history and service and guarantee had been transferred to my name. I didn't ask for any of this, I must assume the dealer sent it in.

Ok I'm a bit old for a teddy bear, (with MG printed on one foot !!) but hell I'm not complaining. So I've named him Fred (Fred the Ted) and put him up on the shelf overseeing everything I do.

Don't know that I'll ever understand the Chinese, one minute they're poking you in the gut with an assault rifle, the next giving you a free teddy bear.

I have a friend with an MG ZS. He bought it new just over three years ago because he didn't want a massive car but still needed to tow his Lotus Elan to race meets across the continent as well as use it for his day job as a buyer of classic cars. It's done just over 280000 miles. The only work that's been done to it is regular servicing, brakes and tyres. Never let him down.

A friend of mine ran the Co-op drapery department in the fifties, when the Teddy Boy craze arrived. There was an element of public disapproval about the whole thing and when he had lads come in for some "drapes", he would, if he felt they might fall for it, tell them that they had to attend for interview at the Police Station, with an inspector who was in it - he would interrogate them about their intentions and then issue a letter of authorisation for a suit to be procured.

All good intentions of getting back on a strict diet tomorrow , when hubby resumes work after a few days hol, have been well and truly scuppered.
Heard a mention on a TV programme of Jam Doughnuts.... 4 now added last minute to tomorrow's Tesco order

Got a feeling diet will now have to start yet again on Friday , once all tomorrow's calories have been scoffed in a few minutes doughnut feast tomorrow....

Cracking walk around Tamar Lake this morning. Quite breezy, all the turbines are thumping away, but the Sun has got some power in it now. The Canadian Geese on the lake are going into 'romantic mode' by the look of it. (Delicate way to put it.) And I averaged 3.0 mph for the first time this year. Going to go home and have a cold glass of Guinness in the conservatory, and watch the birds doing their thing. :)

'Working' from home today. Lovely bike ride over the Chase this morning, closely followed by two panting pups who are now snooped out in the sun on the lawn.

Zooming with a client at 1 then I think I'll see if the new shocks I fitted to the car at the weekend stand up to scrutiny in the real world by taking a drive over to Pillaton to get a few plants.

Did my weekly ten mile circuit to exercise the car this morning, whilst the first Shed fire this week warmed the place up - we're promised a cold snap tomorrow, then a warm weekend, so I'll try to fit in with that.

Bloke came for the Chinese clock, he suggests that it could be even older than I thought and has gone off to see if he can get corroboration of a likely date.

I missed our walks over the chase today. Been really nice strolling over (rather than my usual flat out pace) these last 3 days, especially having a big fuss from the numerous dogs having fun over there. Hubby is back working so was contemplating going over on my own , but chickened out .

I've been very very bad.

After promising I would sort out my excessive collection of coats so that we can get the front door open when they're on the coat rack.... I've ordered a new winter coat..... Its not my fault, I've been after a particular coat for ages, but (for me) it was very pricey & I've been patiently waiting for it to go in to the sale..... Today it did, but it was sold out in my size everywhere I tried....

... but then, I found it in a different colour, which I didn't know they did, so now it's on its way..... I'm hoping it takes a week or so to be delivered so the carer doesn't see!

Ooops.

I realised the other day that when making a cake, I do my daily 10,000 steps just walking to the cupboards and back again.
Everything that I need is in the cupboards furthest away.

Cups and mugs aren’t anywhere near the kettle. Things that I only use once a year are within reach.

So, I decided to take absolutely everything out of the cupboards EVERYTHING and start again logically.

So, it’s all everywhere, on the floor, the table, the work surfaces. I’ve spent 2 days having a jolly good sort out, rearranging it into a logical workable arrangement.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Keep opening cupboard doors just to look at how perfectly arranged it all is.

Yes, I know, too much time etc, but it’s made me happy. For now.
