You can have a week at 'The Ritz' in London, on the very same nights for less...The carers just looked!

Yes , I was thinking that. We've always thought we'd like to stay in one of the posh London hotels featured on telly programs .

Moment of panic then....just looked at The Ritz myself doing a dummy booking and then another message popped up...heart missed a beat..thought I'd accidentally actually booked it . Just a pop-up giving other booking sites to compare prices .....Phew!

Profiteering idiots. With luck we'll be back to normal, travel wise, next year and their reward will be bankruptcy as people head abroad.
The owner of the holiday cottage we rent said that she was shocked she'd had people ringing her up offering more than the original price to gazump the people who have already booked , as her prices are very reasonable . She said no way would she do that . She knows if she keeps her prices decent , and treats her guests well, she will keep bookings more or less full and regular repeat bookings .

I've found a holiday booking which makes all of that look utterly ridiculous. (And it is utterly bloody ridiculous.)
A nice pleasant place out in the countryside with nice views, on suite shower, and various kinds of interesting events as part of the package.

I've already booked a few nights at the Bate's Motel.

She could 'agree' to it - and then tell them that somebody has gazumped them, days before they are due to arrive...

Had 'the reveal' over the weekend, a girl apparently.
Mrs T running around the room whooping and clapping her hands. Would've done exactly the same had it have been a boy. Don't get it, 50:50, it's got to be one or the other.
I might upset a few here, but what is the point of these reveal parties?
What has happened to the good old fashioned, wait till the baby is born to find out the sex of it? I know some like to plan in advance the colour scheme, Pink for the girl, Blue for a boy.
There is no element of surprise in anything these days.

People wait until the birth? I thought the idea was people just let everyone know once they had the Ultrasound and were told?

Gender reveal parties are an American import that has caused a lot of problems over there, including various wildfires in the warmer states

Had the youngest 30 and a bit years ago, 3 more above him. Never wanted to know the sex of any of them. We'd already chosen a couple of names. As I said, there's no surprise in anything these days.
