Well it's definitely that time of year - the glut is upon us.

One thing has led to another.

The fallen damsons have called to me, leading to an assessment of the 'steeping' arrangements.

An assessment of the 'steeping' arrangements leads to a forgotten 'stash' of blackberry vodka.

The forgotten 'stash' of blackberry vodka needs some storage attention to make way for the ringing, singing damsons.

The suitable receptacles for the storage of the forgotten 'stash' of blackberry vodka, needed to make way for said ringing, singing damsons, are soon filled.

There then appears a surplus - or glut if you will - of blackberry vodka that has no suitable receptacle in which to be stored.

There really is only one thing to do when presented with such a dilemma. So i did that one thing.

I am now in a most pensive state, and am recalling a wonderful early summer day in Zell am See where i got heroically drunk with a Belgian chap called, quite improbably but nonetheless truthfully, Dave. We were down to the very last dregs of money in our collective pockets which was the exact amount needed to buy a bottle of sloe gin. 20% abv - for some reason i can still see my chameleon eyes come together for the brief moment to take that in.

I was this close to being run over by a train.

Not Mundane - Dr Who is back on tomorrow & I'm really looking forward to it, when they announced Peter Capaldi as the new Dr I was disappointed.... but having seen him in several interviews lately I think he will make an excellent Dr. :)

The manager of our hotel gave us a guided tour of our holiday resort in the hotels brand new electric car he was showing off. First time I've actually seen a charging station for them .( Not much use if you arrive in one though as the parking space the charging station was behind was always taken!)

Drove over to Shrewsbury today, down the B road - nearly got wiped out by some utter moron in a yellow MG coming the other way, overtaking on a blind bend

Must have scrubbed most of my brake pads off avoiding a head on with said moron, and both me and passenger were just a little shaky for the rest of the run...

Sooo, what did we think?
Well, confusing!

I thought (hoped) Peter Capaldi might of been a bit 'darker', some of it I found a bit silly - like the bit when he was jumping from roof to roof & then onto the horse...but overall still entertaining - although Tom Baker/ David Tennant/ Matt Smith are still my favourites....
