Gorgeous build there Gramaisc!

Is that the MK IX Spit?

My next project is the Mitsubishi A6M3a Zero fighter 1/48 scale as a tribute to its designer Jiro Horikoshi

Have been listening to some rumblings going on to my sw, thought it was thunder but now it sounds like fast jets at a display. Odd for a Friday...

Nearest recent lightning is on the Normandy coast, according to this - it does feel "thundery", though, and has just started some slight rain.

I did see my first military aircraft* in the UK for several years just the other day. A Hercules flying over Beacon Barracks - I just spotted it through the buildings as I was leaving Lidl.

* Fixed wing, that is - although I do see the odd Hawk at Valley when approaching Holyhead.

Could be returning flights from Mach Loop in North Wales.

I've frequently seen aircraft (F-15E's) returning to base (usually Lakenhealth or Mildenhall) flying over head

No news on here is probably good news for Peggy - it sounds like things may have happened this time and we might expect to hear little from her for a few days yet...
Indeed, I didn't know though, if anyone had her on other social media & had seen any updates from family etc...

Just had a pizza and kebabs delivered from Denry's Lounge . First time trying them (after getting a leaflet through last night) and the best we have ever had. Really tasty . Looks like we have found our new favourite place :)

Probably 20 years since I went to a Mildenhall Airshow. When is the base due to close?

Lakenheath will remain.

Most of Alconbury is in civilian use already, and the luxury kennels bult for the USAF police dogs were handed over to the Cambridgeshire Police for their dogs several years ago. Molesworth I hadn't realised was still open, site of an anti-cruise missile camp which caused other police forces to have serious doubts about the Cambridgeshire force.

... here's hoping. Been thinking of you, and hoping for you.

As much as anything else, hoping you didn't ultimately go for the Hudl 1 in your pursuit of a tablet to keep you occupied throughout the ordeal, coz this one here just upped and died on me - it best not be some sort of awful omen.

Best wishes @peggy

That's where we're going this week-end.
No we're not, we're at Stow on the Wold. Mrs T has arranged for us to stay with friends who are over here from Spain for a fortnight. And got the two places confused. "Well there's 'on the' in the middle " being her rationale! But Stow is also lovely lovely, we're in a smashing little cottage and only 5 minutes away from Bourton so we went there for lunch yesterday anyway.
