We were going to the cinema tonight but sadly after an hours work on the back rubble aka garden I've relapsed with whatever lurgy I've had. Now a night in on the sofa with the snuggle-up-a-puppygus instead.

My wallet is nearly £700 lighter thanks to Boo our 12 year old Staffie needing every joint x-rayed.

She's got arthritis in lots of joints but at least it's not the big C coming back and we know what she needs to ease the pain and make her life a little easier.

Hopefully I can claim most of the pennies back but that's not important just now.

Head of the queue from the Hough to riverway, allowed oncoming right turn to proceed, next up a red car exiting fairway, again i gave way . Finally a huge fu#k off BMW needed access to to Esso on lamascote rd, again Basil showed courtesy. 3 acts of random kindness in 2 minutes. I've earned that pint.....

Couldn't find anything relating to my great gran who lived in Stafford Almshouses that I was originally looking for in the few documents I saved from my parents house clearance. But found my Hanley grandparents house purchase receipt . £95 in 1949

Wishing I had saved more now! Finding it interesting reading now that all the slog of clearing and cleaning is out of the way.

The oh's family legend goes that they once owned a massive house in Basford Bank and a fortune to go with it. Sadly it had been squandered away before his Great Grandparents time. I think the M_I_L mentioned it had been knocked down and a housing estate built in its place.

£50 was first mentioned in all the various figures quoted by our administrators, but Nicholsons said £80 . Hoping all the other charges haven't escalated from original expected costs on the bill! :hmm:

The bloke I used said fifty quid was the standard fee - a 60% mark-up is a little ridiculous, especially for something which is basically worthless, apart from being pointlessly compulsory.
