Did you volunteer to do the number of shifts you're doing or is that what is expected of staff at this time of year?An early 4pm finish, hot bath, clean hair, & tea already on.... Best of all a lie in till 7am tomorrow & only 4 more get ups (and for bonus points, I get to wear pyjamas at work tomorrow).
Both.Did you volunteer to do the number of shifts you're doing or is that what is expected of staff at this time of year?
A very kind customer sent me a crate of 6 bottles of The Macallan Estate scotch, which arrived today. I will be christening a bottle this evening.
We regularly get cases of wine at Christmas and whisky to be distributed to all staff, it is in the nature of many of our clients. This particular client also sent a case of enough Macallan for every member of staff on Friday (our last day before crimble). We got a tin of Quality Street which was a nice surprise, rarely get anything from clients at Christmas...
You deserve it soo much, for children like my daughter, going to school has really kept their mental health in balance. As an older adult I really can't imagine how hard it's been for both students, and for the teachers who have put themselves at great risk to do their jobs, and do the very very best for their students. You are all doing an amazing job, & I am so very grateful for the sacrifices you've all made. Enjoy every single bite & drop.I usually make it out of school with a few boxes of chocolates....
This week was my last and I feel very overwhelmed by the love and generosity of my wonderful students!
Six (six!!) Bottles of wine, chocolate, four Lush gifts plus some lovely candles!
I cried ALL day!!!!
The light will be different in a really good way tomorrow.
Enjoy your day off @GlamThis is my one day off this week, and I really, honestly, can't be arsed with it all.
Thanks duck. I have such a lot do, and bugger all of time do it in! xxEnjoy your day off @Glam
Well, I've done it !
Achieved my target of sticking strictly to my weight reducing/super healthy eating diet from 6th September until at least today.
Gone a full 12 weeks without any booze at all.
Walked millions of miles walking my little legs off, pounding the streets and the Chase to do it .
And gone well past my target weight to get well into the ' ok weight' range .
3st 5lb in total lost in total , and feeling much better for it.
Now for a few days of relaxation , enjoying a couple of days of christmas with son while he's here (in our support bubble , so can come for more than just xmas day. First time for a few years he's managed to get both Christmas eve and Boxing Day off )
Got to stop hubby eating even more of the xmas goodies now before tomorrow! As soon as he finished work last night he started tucking in , polishing off most of the 'special' stuff before christmas has even begun
Gosh @Carole That is incredible! Well done to you all.I’m extremely proud of our village.
Over the last 5 weeks we had a little Christmas stall on my friends drive.
We made cakes, my friends made holly wreaths, Bednall calendars and Christmas cards.
We asked the village for gift items to sell. The quality of things arriving daily was wonderful.
People brought things to sell and people spent money.
All this unmanned, out daily with an honesty box we raised ££3644.46 for Katharine House Hospice.

This is on top of the request that the church warden made for donations to the food bank. On top of the donations of biscuits, chocolates and Christmas puddings the village donated £1383.50 in cash which was used to purchase approx 1200 meals (tinned meat, tinned potatoes and tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and custard.)
Here is the food from Bednall being donated to the food bank.
