We feel it has been some time since we made any real contribution to the forum.
For this, we apologise!

We're currently looking at a few potential venues in the town to launch the live music element of our company.
We want to know what type of music you want to hear. What events would you want to go to. And where!?

Let us know and we'll see what can be arranged.
Any budding muscians out there, drop us a line.
We'd love to hear from you.

We hope you are all enjoying and making the most of 2011 so far.
Happy February!

Rawk!

Seriously though, I'd love more information about rock/metal type gigs, you only hear about them on the grapevine, a proper rock night in town is needed. I might even start going out in the evenings again!

(I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm just waaay out of the loop on these things...)

I agree. Rock nights are something we're looking into.
We're trying to make sure we have a suitable venue to assign the night to.

However, once a month at the university(first week of each month I believe), there is a new rock night that has just been launched.
To my knowledge, you don't need to be a student to attend - don't hold me to that one though.

Acid Bebop Jazz. Sounds awesome, if not a little conflicting at times.

Mile Davis and DJ Fresh in a dance off in ASDA car park with Charlie Parker?
Magic.

The music i like most of all is 'live' music - i'm not much fussed what genre, i'll listen to pretty much anything.

thefordsquad used to put on regular music nights, usually at either the Shrew or latterly the Bird. At neither were the acoustics perfect but it was a good enough set up and they were top rockin' nights.

Good luck with your endeavour and keep us posted of any forthcoming events.

I agree with you there 'The music i like most of all is 'live' music .' That's a great sentiment.
Many thanks, we shall keep you informed.

You could always try the Star and Garter this Sunday at 1.30. Click on Gig, in the upcoming events. Can't promise Acid, BeBop etc, but some Quo, Stones, Clapton,Bon Jovi etc. Would be nice to see some of you there, you would not have to expose yourself to me!

Wow, you really do learn something new every day!
I may have to look into it. On a personal basis.

Hey guys, ditto - i don't have much time to contribute any longer either :(
I agree with Zeb - rock nights would be great. Also I went to see a band at Casa called Byker Groove - they did rocky covers but have changed their name to 54321 and released an album - I think they are going to be really good :)
If you want a challenge though - the Scissor Sisters would be good ha ha
