I went past Maxim's at about 11 a.m. and there were hammering sounds coming from within.

Maybe they are opening a stake restaurant?

I've asked that he be strict with the under age lot as I can't be bothered drinking with kids!

Any outfit trading in the environs of bridge st will will probably need anyone aged 18 and over to spend cash on their premises, i think Casa had intention of reaching a slightly more mature clientele however it wasn't longer before they were targetting the student night and offering free BBQ to all and sundry........

Absolutely right. Can't open a bar in Stafford during a recession and not let probably the heaviest drinking members of society in...(18-25). or maybe they can prove me wrong.... Hope not, wouldn't like to be not let in !

It would appear that basil has not bothered to investigate this development directly, as they were quite forthcoming when I accosted two of the chaps this morning. They informed me that it will be a 'café/bar' and that the work is due to be complete by the end of May. They exchanged knowing glances when I revealed that it is currently the end of March already..
