Quiet night in for us . Might crack a can or two of cider , but want to stay soberish as I worry about son going out revelling with his mates after his house party.

I used to love New years Eve in my younger days, going to the pubs and night clubs ( except for the dreaded all day hangover the next day ). But hate it nowadays.

£3 to get in the Holmcroft tonight. There was a big punch up in there last year if you fancy it?

Yes, New Years Eve's for the youngsters, not us old gits.

Sons mate & GF turned up at his house party in shock. They'd gone for a meal in a restaurant beforehand and a gentleman at the next table had a cardiac arrest and died in front of them . 😭

Was a quiet night for us , although I had a few cans of cider and a Pina Colada (hubby wasn't drinking as going to hospital tomorrow) . I finally slept after sons text to say he'd got home safely after 3am. They'd got a taxi to a nightclub in town at 12.15am after seeing in the new year at his house.
He's rather worse for wear today ....so glad those days are over for me & hubby 🤣

I couldn't bring myself to celebrate. I miss my Dad and it was our first Xmas and New Year without him. Year to the day we learned his diagnosis so I'm just feeling sad now. I spent the evening watching things, rest of the family were gaming and chatting with friends over the internet.
