Hi everyone. Just arrived at the forum by chance, but it looked worth joining. I worked in Stafford for a some years and retain a keen interest in everything that goes on. I visit the town at least once a week and occasionally, if there's a break in the jams, manage to reach a car park!

Recently moved close to the Stafford hospital area, Am retired [70] v keen on gardening and Mountain biking, [yep, still biking like a madman]
Moved here in September and already dug out a veg garden and erected a greenhouse.cant wait till spring. Interesting to read such a diverse

There's been a bit of chat on here in the past about veg growing - e.g. -

Hit the Search function for anything more specific.

There is also this generic cycling thread, though, again, there are others..

A few posts under my belt
Hi all,

I'm Colin, a newbie to the forum and to Stafford—or at least I'm hoping to be. I'm still doing my research for a place to live in the area, coming from the grim wastelands of Essex.

Er, it's Colin!

We can save that for when he's been here a while.....

Aaaww shame ! So sorry @Stark2k (scuttles off in embarrassment) welcome to the forum, I was going to add, you'll enjoy it here but that wouldn't have come across very genuine with the typo.
Any way, welcome and I'm sure you'll get to know everyone very soon.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome.

@Floss -- no worries regarding the typo. You're not the first and likely won't be the last to call me colon.
@Carole -- Apart from my part of Essex essentially being Mordor and a cultural wasteland, I visited some friends in Stafford recently and really liked the town, not to mention the rental rates and property prices. I will have another friend shortly actually asking for a few details on that very subject.

Hi all, I'm Grant. We moved into the area 8 years ago from the West Midlands and love living in Stafford (minus the current traffic issues). Love walking the dog around the castle and along the disused railway lines and local canals. Avatar to follow. Really enjoy reading the forums for local info and the banter.

Hello @LadapaBailey

Welcome to the forum

If you are looking for a job try googling The Lewis Partnership.

They own 3 hotels and one pub. Might be worth a try.
