I know of quite a few people that ended up with an old trout in the Nag's Head.

Careful, you are almost agreeing with JM (although apparently a little geographically challenged). I must admit that I wouldn't think of going into Stafford for a meal except for the Swan, and in the past the Vine.
I am certainly geographically challenged but I'm not sure how you know that. Have I asked you for directions at some point?
I was cutting somebody's front lawn once, when a chap pulled up and asked me where a particular road was. I told him that I wasn't sure, but it sounded like it shouldn't be too far away.Possibly. Have you asked someone for directions who either gave you directions to the wrong place or who muttered incomprehensibly. I have a complete inability to remember name, be it people, places or street names. Can get very difficult if someone stops you & asks the way somewhere, placename sounds familiar but you can't associate it with anywhere. Just an oddball side effect of my dyslexia but the worse one to cope with.
That you were on day release from St. Georges?I was cutting somebody's front lawn once, when a chap pulled up and asked me where a particular road was. I told him that I wasn't sure, but it sounded like it shouldn't be too far away.
When I got home, I looked it up and found that it was the road that the house where I was cutting the grass was - I used to just cycle there and look for the unusually coloured garage door.
I wonder what he thought..?
