Just to prove I don't have a thing just for David Kidney, I've set up a Facebook group titled Oust Bill "stash the" Cash MP. Basically it's calling for Mr Cash to step down following revelations about him claiming expenses to pay rent to his daughter. If you'd like to add your voice to the campaign please become a member. The group was set up on Sunday and has 100 members already. Thanks

Fantastic coverage of the scandal in the Newsletter today. Let's hope Stone constituents get the public meeting with Mr Cash that they deserve.

Are you suggesting the people of Stone constituency are largely arrogant, conceited, expense fiddling toffs who live in manor houses in Shropshire? Surely not?!

I detect a note of sarcasm in this comment - it is indeed a great British quality I have come to admire

John, no offence but if the avatar is you, you do look frighteningly like Bill Cash in a very unconvincing disguise. Please say you are Bill Cash.

This is not directly to do with Bill Cash, but it has come about because of his expenses scandal...

Just in case you are interested in my reply to Stone Conservative Association Chairman John Prendergast's letter in the current edition of the Staffordshire Newsletter, it can be found here.

The letter in question can be read on page 12 here.

i thought it was interesting to note that you didn't make any attempt to refute the claims that mr. prendergast made in his interesting and well presented letter, choosing instead to try and discredit him by making reference to a personal phone call you had made (i'm talking about the original letter from prendergast and your response here, not the one in the most recent newsletter)..

i thought about posting this when your reply was first published in the newsletter a couple of weeks ago, but thought better of it.. it's not a big deal, tbh, i only brought it up because you mentioned it! note that i have absolutely no respect or admiration for mr. prendergast (i don't even know who he is) so i have no ulterior motive; it just struck me as interesting that a representative from the green party, who one would imagine would have all the data one could ever need to refute claims such as his (which really got me thinking about how much of this "end of the world" hyperbole is based in reality) made no attempt to do so, instead falling back on the mud-slinging tactics of other parties on whom you would normally pour disdain :raise:

then i clicked the link you have provided to your blog, where your full letter is reproduced verbatim, and i see that the newsletter hacked it to pieces and basically omitted all the important parts lol.. you know, the bits where you discredit his sources and provide alternative, unbiased links to more prudent data.. makes you wonder - does the newsletter have an agenda? ;)

seriously, though, i bet you were well miffed.. as i say, to the casual reader it didn't present a very competent argument from your side, which is far from the case when you read the original text..

1, Never trust the Newsletter.

2, The world will not end just yet - but it will just be changed and we might not like all the differences.

This time round I could have picked apart the points in his last letter, for example, that it by far a better idea to leave the coal and sea bed methane where it is rather than mine it and have to burn it, or that it would be preferable to reduce the amount of waste we create to zero rather than burn methane produced in land-fill, but it would have been a bit boring. I mean, what must he be thinking when he writes in one sentence that wind turbines are best at sea, but if we spread them out evenly there will be one every 3 miles? I am sure that there are a hundred Conservatives that turn up to Association meetings in Stone but you don't hear me going on about if you spread them out evenly in Staffordshire that would mean we are never more than 400 meters away from one, or any other such nonsense.

The danger is that people get the impression that Prendergast knows what he is talking about when it comes to climate change or energy, which he clearly doesn't. What's more is that David Cameron will probably be the next Prime Minister and a lot of people will be fooled by video of him cycling to work, even though his chauffeur was driving along carrying Cameron's briefcase and shoes just out of shot behind him.

Did you see any of the Tory conference? Cameron and Osbourne kept saying "We're all in this together", which we are clearly not, because most of us don't have £30m personal fortunes to keep us is Bollinger while the recession bites and most of us get effectively poorer for the next 25 years.

However peed off you are with Gordon do not make the mistake of thinking David is your friend. He isn't. He is a toff who wants your poor grandchildren to pay for his tax breaks for the rich today.

i just wanted to clarify, my post was actually in your favour, as it was highlighting the hatchet job that the newsletter had done on your letter.. admittedly, that wasn't very clear, as i made the post as a kind of stream-of-consciousness whilst making a cup of tea lol.. soz..

yeah, that was sort of one of my points (again, which i probably didn't make clear).. his letter in the newsletter was compelling, and very well presented, and it did get me wondering about how much of this "climate change" business was based in fact.. as you say, it's perhaps more a testament to his powers of spin than it is his knowledge of green issues though..

wait, isn't this thread about bill cash? lol

Yes, yes, I did realise that, no worries! I am just a pressure cooker full of anti-Tory steam (and cabbage) wanting to vent off!!!

Don't keep agreeing with me too much, though, FilthyRoberto, or I may think I have logged into the wrong Stafford Forum!!!

I think it only fair to say that agendas can make one left feeling very angry and depressed and alone
much like being in a large city on a rainy day without any money

Enville Ales, however, are made from honey and can make one feel quie warm inside
