That is quite easy to understand (whether you agree with it is another matter) unlike some of your cryptic replies.

Easy to understand inasmuch as you would have wished to attend to express your disapproval?

Yes, that was pretty easy to understand.

What i find difficult to understand is why you would appear to have crashed a place of well meaning folk wishing to talk about this and that to goad them in to not being happy about elements of this and that that appear to be important to you but don't overwhelmingly to be of importance to anyone else here.

Sorry, was that a bit cryptic for you?

In Hetairoi's defence, some of your posts are very cryptic Withnail, along with Gramaisc, basil, et al. Many of the regulars will be used to it, and some may even be able to decipher whatever it is you are trying to imply, but it's a little unfair to badger newcomers in this way.

We've all made posts that make no sense, or sometimes that even convey exactly the opposite of what we intended, resulting in us having to make swift use of the "Edit" button, as Hetairoi has done here.

Hetairoi, it you are going to make a post about immigration (or, indeed, anything other than the Polish Day which is the subject of this thread) please start a new thread so as not to derail this one. :)

some of the comments can be very cutting.

Fair comment.

However, statements such as;

"immigrants are being sent to Stafford just because we do not have our 'quota'!"

and

"What on earth is Stafford Rural Homes doing organising (and presumably funding) a Polish History day?
It is a shame that I did not see this post earlier as I would have been interested in going along."

are, surely you agree, fairly inflammatory, the latter even sounding vaguely menacing.

You are absolutely right it is not right that recent immigrants to this country are given precedence over people who have been here longer!
What evidence do you have to support this claim? Last year a serious study concluded there is no wider evidence
to support this claim - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8137408.stm

It is also wrong that immigrants are being sent to Stafford just because we do not have our 'quota'!
What evidence do you have to support your claim that "immigrants are being sent to Stafford"? None, I will wager.

I always thought immigrants got to choose where they wanted to live, based on work available and family/friends I'd wager. I've never heard of them having designated endpoints to their jourmey, who decides them?

I haven't got time to sort out yet another derailed thread, so I'm just going to close it. There are interesting questions raised here, and it would be nice to see them answered in a new, correctly titled, thread. :)
