yeah, the guinness has been getting better and better as well.. the first pint i had in there on (re)opening night was a bit ropey, but since then they have all been glorious!

They have bottles of Nigerian Guinness in Tesco, well worth a try, though it's not cheap - but it is 7.5%.

I wonder if this is a non-food item - borderline, I think.

Is this a record?
nope - the castle tavern thread has 342 replies and 13,483 views, and it's still open, officially.. that's mainly because ash was such an active forum member though, keeping us all updated - and the way grace & dean have been on here so far, i can see them usurping the crown before too long! :D

just in case you hadn't realised and went to unecessary trouble, gramaisc was deliberately misinterpreting my post for "comic" effect.. i was just saying that i could see "the railway inn" becoming a more popular user than "castletavern" judging by their recent forum activity!

Just had a pint or two in the Railway at lunch and must say it has improved a fair bit, beer was good and although customers were very few it looked and felt like a proper boozer again and not an ante room of a rugby club. Nice. Fancy dress on boxing day?
