Looked good but i arrived a little later than i'd have hoped so didn't have much time to look around before ko, and had to leave straight after (if raffle ticket 674 was called in my absence...:grr:) so i'm probably not the best judge.

An amazing job to put all that together in ten days, though, so :bravo:

I thought the fun day was excellent, it was great to see the bar so busy and so many children at Marston Road. Well done to all those involved in making today possible.

I thought olly had a good game today and put some good crosses into dangerous areas. I was standing behind the goal when we had the chance in the 1st half and was willing the ball in the net. All in all a good solid performance today, I am chuffed for Dan Cope and I am a huge fan of Alex Curtis so Im glad he got on.

Was he the No.3? It was his ball that trickled in front of the goal mouth as mentioned elsewhere - all that was needed was the belief that he'd win it from anybody else on the pitch and it would have been 1:0 at half time.

Promising player.

If Rangers can keep hold of their young players... Alex Curtis, Dan Cope, Olly Davies etc etc coupled with the experience of Craney (if we manage to keep him), Griffiths and Reid think we have the makings of a good team next year.

Agreed. Get things in place and work hard during Summer.

For anybody wanting to know, including Admin, why I posted this on the main thread instead of sport - The town's main club has and is undergoing a lot of change and part of putting this on here was down to trying to make townsfolk aware of the need to get the community back into the club. To a degree that worked on Monday and hopefully many will come back for events in the near future.
For a start, there is a charity race night at the club this Friday. FA Cup final day will see another gathering with the game shown, and music and barbecue. 30th May sees a night with a difference with Grant Andrews, comedy hypnotherapist putting on a show.
Busy times ahead! As well as hopefully confirming the team manager's position, assembling a new board and support committee and utilising the social club to its full potential.
PS if you hear anybody spreading rumours about the club being finished, just ask them to confirm how they know? Too many care for that to happen!

Big 'if' though.

Has been noticeable over the last couple or more of years that the very players who might stay and save them are the very ones that go and leave them. Not that anyone could really blame them.

Mr. Reid deserves a lot of credit in this respect and also had a good game on Monday.

Who was the No.10 who was taken off at half time? He looked like he could become a better player as well.

Glad to read that there was a good turnout. I was all set to attend with both my kids when a minor accident struck resulting to a trip up A&E instead.

Hopefully will be able to attend a few games next season.

There seems to be some animosity towards the Rangers within the town is this the case or my imagination ?

I am not referring to any posts on here but conversations in general with other football fans

There appears to be many Ill informed or people that haven't been near the place for many years and accuse the club of what they do themselves - living in the past! A number of good people are trying to help and change things and that takes time but progress is held back by people sticking their heads in the sand. Football clubs are strange places. When things are going well, people wave their scarves and jump on the bandwagon like they've never been away. When things don't go well, people disappear and don't want any part of failure, yet a hard core, usually the same decent folk, stick at it and try to revive clubs. I went to our last game of the season away at Whitby yesterday. We are relegated and "apparently" down and out but still took about 60 fans. Tell me that isn't a club worth sticking with! Some league clubs take that many to games, never mind an 8 hour round trip!

Surely the situation with Shirts is the same everywhere? Personally I don't see anything wrong in following a big team to some degree. There's no way I could afford to take my Kids to a Premiership game and so encourage them to Support the local teams. Hopefully they'll develop a love of the grass roots game and become regular supporters when they're older.

Here's something that not many non fans will know - the under 18 team have won their league this season, are in two cup finals, including the sentinel cup final at the Britannia stadium on 8th May and after we were cutting costs having had relegation more or less confirmed, we used a number of young players including 5 or 6 youth team, in the first team and they all performed well.

It would be nice to see more Staffordians and in particular Stafford Forum members taking an interest in Stafford Rangers, however there is a specific forum for Stafford Rangers Fans which is very well used and therefore the majority of people comment on there rather than in Stafford Forum. I would urge everyone next season to get down to Marston Road. The social club was modernised last year and looks excellent and the Stan Robinson and Lotus suites are brilliant for any occasion and (although I am biased) non-league football is in my mind a far better spectacle than watching over paid, sometime cheating so called professional footballers. Come on support your local club, we are a good bunch of fans and very friendly.
