Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

250,000th poster!
Saw them removing the sign the other day, so maybe they have a new home for it?
Web site says this...

It does say 'temporarily' closed, so maybe they will go back to the market stall in the guildhall. It always smelled delicious, although was a little too expensive fur us to try.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Crystalline Cities is shut, had been for months, with a sign in the window stating it's temporarily closed for maintenance. Presumably it's gone out of business?

According to Facebook, Geek Retreat has closed permanently, which is a real shame. Daughter and I loved our visits there.

Always seemed quite busy , but I think there may have been issues with the building. Didn't it flood not long ago ?
It did flood, but reopened - my guess would be the business model (I've seen the same thing happen with a lot of boardgame cafes) - loss of people spend a lot of time there, but not really paying thier way. If you sit there for hours playing D&D and you nurse a can of coke then it makes it hard to make a profit from people. If your audience is typically skewed younger, with less disposable income then you have that problem exhasperated.

I hope it's not true, and that they'll find a way to stay open. It's a really asset for the town.

It's the same as pub customers that make a pint last over an hour, and without the justification of being the driver.

Yes unfortunately they closed on Monday. A bit of a shock really as they were advertising on Facebook for staff the previous week. It’s a shame really as it’s the only place like It for miles around. Family member has been a regular at their evening events since it opened but as others have said, paying a fiver for 4+ hours evening event & then getting prizes in the competitions won’t make them a lot of money.
Such a shame.
